**Through Silent Meadows We Trace Stories Left Behind Yesterday by Asa Rowan Flint**

“If I want thirty Jeney Morgan Grensp within three years, after I pay the penalty fee, the Morgan Group cannot obstruct my path in any way,” Sophie declared, her voice steady and unwavering.

A wicked smile curled at the corners of Marc’s lips, and he raised an eyebrow in playful challenge. “Ah, so you’re attempting to cut off all my escape routes, are you?”

Sophie, with a firm grip on her pen, tapped it against the table. “Add this clause, and I’ll put my name on the dotted line.”

Marcus’s sharp, phoenix-like eyes roamed across Sophie’s delicate features, taking in the stubborn glint that flickered in her gaze. There was something undeniably fierce about her, a defiance that intrigued him.

Without hesitation, Marcus pulled out his phone and dialed Chris.

Moments later, Chris entered the room, holding the modified contract with a look of professionalism. “The contract has been revised according to your specifications,” he announced, handing it over to Marcus.

Marcus extended the document toward Sophie, but she barely glanced at it before signing her name with an elegant flourish.

Raising an eyebrow in surprise, Marcus asked, “Aren’t you concerned that I might be plotting something against you?”

Sophie’s response was swift and confident. “Someone like Mr. Morgan, if he truly wanted to scheme, wouldn’t leave any room for escape.”

A grin spread across Marcus’s face, yet the depth of his gaze suggested a more complex intrigue.

“The contract is signed. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave,” Sophie said, rising to her feet.

As her figure faded from view, Marcus gestured toward the contract lying on the table. “Get it analyzed for handwriting.”

Chris hesitated momentarily, processing the request. “Mr. Morgan, whose handwriting should we compare it with?”

“Liora’s,” Marcus replied, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Meanwhile, Sophie had just reached the door to her room when she spotted a tall silhouette approaching. As she drew nearer, she recognized Celine, her friend.

“It’s quite late. Why are you returning from that direction?” Celine asked, her brow furrowed in concern. “Isn’t that Mr. Morgan’s room over there? Did you go to see him?”

Sophie felt a twinge of annoyance; Celine seemed unable to stop mentioning Marcus. “You came looking for me at this hour—is something wrong?”

Celine handed her a USB drive with a sly grin. “This was recorded by the drone just ten minutes ago.”

Curious, Sophie accepted the USB drive and casually inquired, “What exactly did it capture?”

“The scene of Liam and Lena… together,” Celine stated, her tone laced with mischief.

Sophie gasped, her heart racing. The USB slipped from her fingers and clattered to the floor.

“Her hands were dirty!” Celine smirked, clearly relishing the moment. “The man you’ve chased for years is now entangled with his so-called sister.”

“Sophie, you’re really failing at this whole life thing!” Celine teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Sophie retrieved the USB with a tissue, her mind racing. “How am I the failure when I’m not the one involved with a sister?”

“Did you watch the video? Are you absolutely certain the woman in it is Lena?” Celine pressed, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper.

Though Sophie had suspected it deep down, the reality was still hard to swallow. The idea of using a sibling relationship as a cover for such actions was unsettling. “That girl pretended to be Liora at the Starlight Cup last time. I’d recognize that face anywhere.”

“If you don’t believe me, you can go see for yourself. I just came from there ten minutes ago; they probably haven’t finished yet. If you hurry, you can witness it all,” Celine added, her words dripping with playful temptation.

Sophie shook her head vehemently. “That’s absolutely unnecessary.”
