I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 100

Stepping inside, Sienna felt like she had to hold her breath just to avoid making a sound.

She looked around the room.

It looked like peacetime.

Not a single woman in sight looked like she'd been electrocuted.

She decided to just tap the shoulder of a guy with chestnut-brown hair sitting near the door. When he looked up, she whispered, "Hi, I'm looking for Director Yates to drop off some documents."

The guy looked pretty young, wearing a striking yellow hoodie and gray sweatpants. His hair was slightly wavy, and he wore a silver stud in his right ear. He didn't look like a corporate drone chained to a desk doing endless revisions; he looked more like a college student who hadn't graduated yet.

"Director Yates just stepped out for a bit. She won't be back until this afternoon."

"Oh..." Sienna looked down at the files.

"You can just give them to me. I'll pass them on to her."

Sienna was more than happy to do that. She quickly handed the files over and thanked him.

As she turned to leave, she felt a light tug on her sleeve.

She looked back, confused.

A faint smile played on the guy's lips. "Hey, how about you add my contact info? Just search for Nathaniel Yale in the main company group chat. I'll message you once I've handed them over."

Sienna paused.

Since she started, she had added plenty of colleagues for work, so adding people wasn't weird.

But the new contacts were mostly within her own department.

She barely interacted with Design, and adding someone just because she delivered a single file once...

It felt a little unnecessary.

Sensing her hesitation, Nathaniel Yale added, "Director Yates is rarely in the office. If you need to drop off more files in the future, you can just hand them to me, and I'll make sure she gets them."

That made sense.

He sat right near the entrance.

Even if Director Yates wasn't around, she wouldn't have to walk all the way into the bullpen. It was definitely convenient.

Sienna looked down to grab her phone, but he was already holding his out, a QR code glowing on the screen.

Yet this kid was mocking him right to his face, in front of Sienna, with absolutely zero respect.

The part that stung the most was the "old age" comment...

He turned green. He was only four or five years older, but Nathaniel made him sound like he was practically in a retirement home.

Because they lived in the same building as his parents, Sienna hadn't wanted to drag out the messy details of what Liam had done.

But sometimes, if you ignore the garbage, it just sticks to you like a bad smell.

"Liam, just because I don't bring it up doesn't mean I've forgiven you."

"Since you're here, I might as well make this clear."

"For the sake of our past, I didn't want to make this ugly. Mind your own business, try to have a little integrity, and don't embarrass your parents who spent half their lives working hard to raise you."

Sienna turned to leave, but Liam grabbed her arm.

"Let's get dinner tonight. We need to talk." Liam was still suspicious about what Rena had said, and he needed to get the truth out of Sienna.

"We have nothing to talk about. If you have time to eat with me, you should spend it trying to come up with some original designs." Sienna glared at him, ripped her arm out of his grip, wiped her wrist, and walked away.
