I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 115

Jorrod's internal clock was used to waking up early.

Especially when he had someone to take care of.

He woke up just past five.

Lying flat on his back, he opened his eyes to the white ceiling, then turned his head slightly toward the sleeping Sienna. She was curled into a ball, facing away from him. Her hair cascaded out, silky and soft, so close that a few strands tickled his neck.

In the silent gaze, his deep, dark eyes brimmed with profound tenderness.

He had only ever possessed her like this for two mornings.

He hesitated.

Eventually, he lowered the hand he had raised to touch her hair.

Jorrod quietly got out of bed and left the room.

About an hour later, Sienna groggily woke up.

She hadn't slept well.

It was just a sprained ankle, but the hyper-awareness of someone lying next to her kept her frozen in the same position all night.

Her back and waist ached as she sat up.

Even turning her stiff neck was painful.

The space beside her was empty.

The sheets and blankets were perfectly smooth, as if Jorrod sleeping next to her had been nothing but a hallucination.

She looked at her ankle. The sprain was red and swollen, radiating a burning heat and a dull, tearing pain from the ligaments.

Still, it was slightly better than the sudden agony of last night.

Using the nightstand for support, Sienna slowly stood up and tried to take a step.

The door opened.

She came face-to-face with the man standing in the doorway.

Sienna froze, an inexplicable wave of guilt washing over her.

In a fraction of a second, before Sienna could even stammer out an excuse, Jorrod swiftly swapped his warm water glass to his left hand. Bending slightly, his strong right arm hooked under her hips, lifting her up against his chest.

"Ah..." Suddenly airborne, her eyes widened in shock as she instinctively threw her arms around his neck.

Pressed tight against his rock-hard chest, all she could see was his broad, straight shoulders.

Sienna's ears grew hot.

"I don't remember what my personality was like before," Jorrod said after a pause. "But at least right now, I'm here, and I can't bear to see you strain yourself."

Was getting out of bed straining herself?

He said it with absolute conviction, but the recipient couldn't help but flush.

"Stop treating me like some spoiled princess who can't take care of herself, okay?"

"Aren't you delicate? I squeezed your ankle a few times and the red marks took days to fade." It had made him feel guilty for days.

Sienna froze.

When did he squeeze her ankle?

Suddenly, the graphic memories from last night hit her like a freight train.

It was back then, when he had gripped her ankles and pushed them down...

The memory made a wave of heat rush through her entire body.

Even in the throes of unbridled passion, when her mind was practically melting, he still had the brainpower to observe her skin!

Her face burned crimson. She wanted to yell at him, but all that came out was a flustered warning, "Jorrod Vaughn!"

The man defended himself. "I was afraid of hurting you."
