I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 13

Especially now that he had visibly recovered some strength, he acted as arrogant as a king.

"I don't need you. I'll have a professional handle it tomorrow."

Perhaps the sofa was too small, because Jorrod simply couldn't stretch out.

He opted to sit up and lean back, his long legs clad in black dress pants spread apart, his leather shoes still planted on the floorboard in front of the sofa.

He tried his hardest to speak calmly, but his Adam's apple bobbed faintly, as if he were swallowing down some deeper, hidden agony.

Sienna stared at his exceptionally sculpted profile. His high, straight nose acted as a dividing line, completely shielding the bloodstained half of his face.

It was hard to imagine.

Just a few days ago, he was a cold-blooded, profit-driven capitalist who looked down his nose at everyone. Now, he was pitifully huddled in a small chair in her apartment.

Sienna mentally corrected herself.

It was a sofa.

But the pristine white ointment squeezed onto her fingertip was expensive, and she wasn't about to let it go to waste...

Sienna's gaze dropped back to Jorrod's profile.

Without warning, she reached out, grabbed the man's face with one hand, and firmly pressed her ointment-coated index finger right onto his wound.

A sharp coldness pierced the cut. Jorrod let out a muffled groan of pain and jerked back. The ointment smeared against his skin, a stinging coolness seeping deep into the laceration.

Reacting like a wild beast defending its territory, Jorrod fiercely grabbed the hand trespassing on his forehead.

"Sienna!"

Sienna knew he wouldn't cooperate. She wasn't as strong as him, so she didn't bother struggling. Letting him grip her wrist, she remained completely unfazed, switching to her other hand to rub circles on his forehead.

She even maliciously pressed a little harder—just enough to make it hurt without actually doing damage.

Only when she saw his sharp brows knit together in unbearable discomfort did she finally look satisfied. "Hurts, doesn't it? That's what you get for throwing a tantrum."

Jorrod ground his teeth. "Get the hell away from me."

She shot him a glare. He was gripping her wrist so hard it ached, and now he was cursing at her on top of it.

It had been hours. If she had been tending to a stubborn mule, the mule would have lowered its hooves and nudged her affectionately by now.

Sienna knew his temper and didn't take it to heart, but she was still annoyed enough.

She sneered, unable to resist needling him. "Jorrod, are you into me or something? How many times have you held my hand tonight? My ex didn't even hold my hand this much."
