I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 135

When Sienna got home, it was exactly eight o'clock.

She punched in her code, and the door clicked unlocked.

The living room lights were blazing, casting a bright, white glow across the entire apartment. Before she could even take off her shoes, she froze, hearing the voice of an unfamiliar woman inside.

The voice wasn't particularly young, but it was steady and incredibly gentle.

She paused, turning her head to peer past the shoe cabinet.

Sitting on the living room sofa directly across from Jorrod was a middle-aged woman.

She looked to be around fifty, wearing rimless glasses and her hair tied back in a neat, low ponytail. Dressed in a dark gray cashmere cardigan, she radiated an aura of pristine professionalism.

"You're back?" Jorrod noticed her first.

He stood up from the sofa, walked over, and naturally took the bag from her hands, hanging it up for her with the perfect demeanor of a devoted partner.

"This is Professor Jacqueline Shaw, a senior specialist in neurology. She's here to do a preliminary assessment of my condition..." Jorrod began his introduction, but the woman on the couch braced her hands on her knees, stood up, and raised a hand to interrupt him as she walked over to them.

Sienna remembered instantly.

Just that morning, Silas had mentioned that Dr. Shaw was one of the top three neurologists in the entire country.

Getting an appointment with her was supposedly harder than climbing up to heaven.

For her to show up exactly here in their living room meant this had to be the result of Silas pulling some serious strings.

But it had only been a day. How did he manage to get her here so fast?

Sienna greeted the woman politely.

A driver had been waiting patiently in the front.

Jacqueline pulled her soft shawl tighter around herself, settling in comfortably before she looked up and teased, "I've never met anyone quite like you. Doing a good deed in secret and letting someone else take all the credit."

Nathaniel Yale glanced at the rearview mirror and offered a faint smirk, remaining silent.

Jacqueline continued, "His communication and cognition are perfectly fine. Based on his recounting of the onset of his symptoms, he has already shown significant improvement. We'll need a comprehensive workup at the hospital for the specifics, but rest assured, it's nothing severe. The recovery shouldn't take too long."

Nathaniel gave a noncommittal hum and asked, "Jacqueline, what's exactly going on with Jorrod? Could amnesia cause such a drastic personality shift? Could it be some sort of dissociative identity disorder?"

Jacqueline shook her head. "In cases like the one you're describing, different personalities don't share the same memories. But he's different. His condition aligns more with post-traumatic amnesia following an accident."

"As for his lost memories, they are just temporarily locked away. They haven't been erased or replaced. With time, it's entirely possible for him to remember everything."
