I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 136

Nathaniel asked further, "When he recovers, will he still remember what happened during this period?"

Jacqueline replied, "Most likely, yes. It depends on his personal recovery process. I'll do my best."

"Don't do your best." Nathaniel turned his head. "Jacqueline, if you can help it, try not to let him recover those memories. Jorrod has a very demanding career; all this trivial stuff is just a burden to him."

"I said I'd do my best. It's not like he just has a common cold that you can instantly cure," Jacqueline retorted.

After a moment, she shot him a deeply suspicious look. "You two are seriously weird. One insists he absolutely has to keep his current memories, and the other tells me to make sure he forgets them once he recovers. You're giving me completely opposite orders. What, do you think I have magic powers?"

Nathaniel completely ignored her probing and just said, "Thanks for your hard work, Jacqueline."

Jacqueline chuckled, a short burst of laughter escaping her. "You're the one doing the hard work. I'm just waiting for you to get Professor Moore's manuscript back from your father."

Nathaniel mentally corrected her phrasing.

It wasn't "get it back." It was "steal it."

Jacqueline practically wanted to give the kid a round of applause. "I fully support stealing it! I'm counting on you, Nate."

Just thinking about it made Jacqueline furious.

Back in the day, she and Alistair Yale were both Professor Sylvia Moore's star pupils. When their mentor retired, she decided to gift her precious, decades-old manuscript to both of them as a keepsake.

Who knew that scheming bastard Alistair would pull such a dirty trick?

He had gone to the office right before she did and politely declined the gift on her behalf!

Although decades had passed, not getting what rightfully belonged to her felt like a splinter wedged in her heart. She wouldn't have peace until she ripped it out!

However, holding a grudge didn't mean she blamed the younger generation. Jacqueline expressed a bit of worry. "But what are you going to do if your dad finds out?"
