I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 159

Jorrod decided to completely ignore him.

"Oh, right. Your gift."

Nathaniel moved swiftly to the back of the car and popped the trunk.

Jorrod lingered, mildly curious to see what kind of theatrical nonsense this guy had been setting up all night.

He watched as Nathaniel muttered something under his breath.

Then, right in front of him, he dragged out a man with bound hands and feet, his mouth sealed tight with duct tape.

Jorrod froze.

This had officially escalated beyond anything he had anticipated.

The bound man hit the pavement with a heavy thud.

Without so much as a flinch, Nathaniel casually kicked the man across the ground until he was right in front of Jorrod.

The man rolled and ended up collapsed at Jorrod's feet.

His eyes were entirely bloodshot, and frantic, muffled whimpers tore through the tape over his mouth. He looked absolutely petrified.

But what shocked Jorrod most was this:

The man's abject terror wasn't directed at Nathaniel. It was directed... at him.

The adrenaline spike from nearly being run over earlier hadn't fully subsided. A ringing roared in his ears like a crashing tide, and a dull, agonizing throb began to hack at the nerves in his brain.

Jorrod squeezed his eyes shut, his chest heaving as he forcefully suppressed the mounting wave of nausea.
