I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 161

Sienna Quinn had returned to the bedroom a while ago.

After Jorrod Vaughn sent his last message, she waited for what felt like an eternity.

She waited so long that anxiety began to claw at her chest, her mind swirling with fears that something had happened to him.

Just as she reached for her phone to call him, the bedroom door opened.

The man's tall figure stepped into the room.

Sienna turned, her expression brightening into a relieved smile. "Jorrod..."

He closed the distance between them in wide strides.

Before she could even register his movement, he pulled her into a crushing embrace.

His grip was almost painful, his arms locking around her with enough force to fuse their bodies together.

Instead of his usual radiating warmth, a biting chill clung to him from the outside air, seeping through her thin nightgown and making her shiver.

She could feel the violent, erratic rise and fall of his chest.

She tried to gently push him back, but he didn't budge. All she could hear were his ragged, heavy breaths echoing loudly against her ear.

Even someone as oblivious as Sienna finally realized something was horribly wrong.

Her smile instantly vanished. "What's wrong? Did you not get it?"

When he remained silent, she patted his shoulder comfortingly. "It's fine. We can just go downstairs and play poker with the neighbors. It's basically the same thing—gets the blood pumping and the adrenaline rushing. The point is, going all night isn't just a dream..."

"Sienna..."

Jorrod finally spoke, his voice dangerously hoarse, cutting her rambling short.

"Hmm?"

"Don't... don't break up with me..."

A faint tremble in his voice caught her off guard. She froze for a moment. "Why would I break up with you? My dad finally agreed to give you a chance."

"Sienna, you love me. Even if I... even if I go back to how I was. Right?"

Sienna paused for a heartbeat. "I do. I really do."

The moment the words left her lips, his arms tightened around her even more.

"Nathaniel Yale... did he look for you at the office today?"

The sudden mention of a third person threw her off. "We're colleagues. We talk sometimes, but not much, and it's always about work."
