I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 175

Jorrod pressed his lips together, his jawline tightly clenched.

Despite the turbulent emotions swirling inside, he kept his expression perfectly stoic, speaking in a measured tone. "How do you know she isn't exactly that kind of woman?"

"That's complete bullshit!" Silas snapped. "You can't even remember the full context, so why are you acting like the victim of some grand conspiracy? Tying you up... I bet you were begging her to tie you up!"

"I can even script it for you right now: 'Sienna, Sienna~ as long as you're happy, I'll do whatever you want~'"

"'Come on~ tie me up, Sienna, let your anger out, punish me, make yourself feel better~'"

It was utterly absurd.

Silas's mocking, sarcastic tone was too much for Jorrod to stomach.

He had absolutely no desire to continue this ridiculous conversation.

Slamming his tablet face down, he stood up and headed straight up the stairs.

Silas had spent all this energy trying to talk sense into him, only to fail miserably and infuriate himself in the process.

He shouted after the retreating figure, "Fine, be stubborn! You're so damn tough! Weren't you wondering why Nathaniel Yale helped you out of nowhere? Let me tell you, he's just waiting in the wings for you two to break up so he can swoop in! Keep acting like you don't care, but let's see how tough you are when she marries someone else!"

Damn it.

All that pent-up frustration.

He felt like he was going to explode.

After leaving the villa, Sienna drove back to her apartment complex.

She didn't really want to go back to her place while it was still under renovation.

The dust was one thing, but avoiding the crushing memories waiting inside was the real reason.

Sitting on a bench in the courtyard, Sienna didn't know what she was thinking. She just stared blankly at the cake resting in her lap, her mind entirely empty.

"Sienna?"

A crisp, casual voice sounded from above. Sienna looked up.

Nathaniel Yale casually sat down next to her.

Sienna watched him settle in with mild confusion. "What are you doing in my neighborhood?"

Sienna looked down at the melting cake in her hands.

No, it certainly wasn't. It was a trashy amnesia romance novel instead.

"You knew all along, didn't you?"

Nathaniel didn't reply verbally. He simply looked into her eyes and gave a slow nod.

"Sorry about that. I guess I really was the fool, treating you like one too."

Her words made Nathaniel let out a genuine laugh. When his laughter faded, he asked softly, "Do you feel like crying?"

Sienna shook her head. "Tears only matter when you know someone cares enough to comfort you. Without anyone to ask what's wrong, crying just seems like a massive waste of energy."

"Then you can cry your heart out tonight. I'll take care of the comforting."

The young man's tone was completely different from his usual demeanor. It was the first time Sienna had ever heard him speak with such doting affection.

While having someone comfort her in a moment like this was touching, she still felt the need to clarify.

"I'm not interested in college boys, just so you know."
