I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 205

The smile instantly froze on Liana's face.

"Wait, no..." She was dumbfounded. "How can you do this? You deliver food without collecting the full payment first? Isn't a high-end restaurant supposed to have stricter policies?"

The manager nodded. "Under normal circumstances, absolutely. But Mr. Vaughn has an established line of credit with us."

Liana let out a bitter laugh.

Of course he had a line of credit!

She took a deep breath, rubbing her stiff cheeks as she resigned herself to her fate. "Fine... how much is it?"

"Fifteen thousand dollars."

"How much?!"

"Uh..." The manager startled slightly before steadying his voice and repeating, "Fifteen thousand dollars."

"Did you fry up a plate of solid gold?!" Liana wanted to die. "You know what... why don't you guys just take it back and eat it yourselves..."

Her suggestion was met with a row of deadpan expressions.

Out of options, Liana called Jorrod, laying on the apologies thick. "Jorrod... I don't have that kind of money. I know I was wrong. I promise I'll never meddle in your love life again..."

Jorrod had never actually intended to bankrupt his impulsive little sister; he just wanted to teach the kid a lesson.

After a brief reprimand, he instructed the restaurant to charge the balance to his account.

Before hanging up, however, his voice turned ice-cold, delivering a final warning that she needed to think before she acted. If she pulled a stunt like this again, he wouldn't let her off the hook.

Liana nodded frantically, agreeing to every word.

But the second the call ended, she gritted her teeth and cursed him out.

What an absolute jerk! She was done shipping them. Sienna deserved to be a strong, independent queen!

The owner's hospitality was infectious, bringing a genuine smile to Jeremy's face. Leaning against the wall, he decided to chat for a moment. "To be completely honest, I'm actually picking these up for my boss. He loves them. He specifically requested your signature dumplings by name."

Realizing this was a corporate errand, George felt both thrilled and slightly sympathetic. "We could just deliver them, you know. It must be a hassle making this trip every single day..."

Jeremy shook his head. "It's not exactly close. I couldn't possibly ask you to drive all that way for a single order of food."

"Nonsense." George grabbed a pen and a notepad from the counter. "Here, just give me the address. Starting tomorrow, I'll deliver them straight to your boss."

"It really is a far drive," Jeremy emphasized again. "Sir, are you familiar with Stellaris Corp? Sending dumplings all the way there is completely unnecessary. Mr. Vaughn would definitely..."

"Wait, hold on a second." George immediately cut him off. "Slow down, young man."

"Hm?"

"Did you say your boss's name was...?"

"Vaughn," Jeremy replied with a smile. "Actually, if you keep up with the business news, you've probably heard of him. His name is Jorrod Vaughn."
