I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 206

The man stood completely bewildered, his gaze dropping from his own feet to the mop handle jabbing aggressively into his chest.

He could not fathom why the previously warm and hospitable older man had suddenly snapped, morphing into a raging lunatic who refused to sell his signature ravioli and threatened to ban him from the bistro forever.

Clinging stubbornly to the doorframe, the man refused to leave.

Judging from the colorful string of curses the owner spat out, it seemed he had a serious grudge against Mr. Vaughn.

"Sir, please, there must be some sort of misunderstanding. Our boss is a fiercely loyal customer of yours!"

"Bullshit!" George Quinn barked, planting his hands on his hips. "Do I look like I need his loyalty?"

"You go back and tell your boss that my humble shop is far too small to accommodate a big shot like him. He wants ravioli? He can go buy it somewhere else, because I will never serve him in this lifetime!"

The man desperately tried to negotiate. "Sir, how about I pay extra? Double the price? No, triple! You name your price, just please sell me a portion..."

George remained entirely unmoved, his anger flaring as he remembered his daughter crying her heart out in her mother's arms the other day.

Make ravioli for Jorrod Vaughn? He wanted to chop the man up and stuff him inside the pasta!

"Not a chance. Tell Jorrod Vaughn to pray for a better reincarnation in his next life! If he comes back as a dog or a sheep, I might consider tossing him some scraps."

The man forced a strained, agonizing smile. "But sir... sheep eat grass. They wouldn't touch your ravioli anyway."

"And dogs eat shit!" George roared, using the mop handle to physically shove the man out the door.

"Get the hell out!"

-

Jeremy Jenkins hung up his phone just as he stepped into the office.

He pushed the door open.

Setting the takeout bag on a small table by the entrance, he approached Jorrod's desk.

The man seated behind it had his head bowed in deep concentration, his long, elegant fingers gripping a custom red-and-black fountain pen that glided and paused rhythmically over the paper.

"Mr. Vaughn," Jeremy began, carefully weighing his words.

Only after hearing a faint hum of acknowledgment did Jeremy relay the contents of his phone call. "Quinton Reed reported that the recipient rejected the items we sent over. Our letters have also been completely ignored, sinking like stones in the ocean."

Jeremy noticed the pen in Jorrod's hand pause for a fraction of a second.
