I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 207

"Forget it. Just leave it. You can step out now."

As Jeremy closed the door, he sneaked a glance to see if his boss was furious. After all, getting cursed out so viciously would anger anyone...

But Jorrod wasn't angry at all.

It wasn't that he absolutely had to eat that specific meal. He had simply found it suited his palate the first time he tried it, and out of habit, he had incorporated it into his daily lunch routine.

His tall, lean frame stood by the table, his downward gaze capturing the reflection of the new ravioli in his dark eyes.

Jorrod couldn't help but muse.

The father and daughter truly had the exact same temper.

-

Jorrod was a man of his word.

Within a few days, he had a brand-new mattress delivered to Sienna's apartment, perfectly matching the price point she had demanded.

Sienna deliberately took a half-day off from work just to watch the deliverymen install her new bed.

She didn't recognize the brand, nor did she know if it was actually worth over a hundred thousand dollars.

A quick internet search revealed it was a high-end Swedish import.

The delivery crew repeatedly asked for confirmation, utterly baffled as to why they were shoving such a luxurious piece of furniture into this dilapidated apartment building. They explicitly stated they would not be held liable for any scuffs or scratches.

Sienna firmly insisted.

Shove it in! Just shove it in!

If it got scratched, so be it. Furniture was meant to be used!

The movers exchanged bewildered glances, looking from the astronomically expensive bed to the crumbling walls of the ancient apartment. At that moment, they truly understood the concept of throwing money into a bottomless pit.

It looked like a runway model slumming it in a trailer park.

After installing the new bed, the crew kindly helped dismantle the rickety wooden frame taking up space in her bedroom.

Once the old mattress was removed, the deeply sunken wooden slats finally saw the light of day.

"Oh wow, miss. This bed is practically an antique. You don't look very heavy, so how did it end up caving in like this?"

Sienna's eye twitched.

"My friend's dog used to jump up and down on it all the time."

The moment the door clicked shut, she tossed the paper straight into her desk drawer.

She would pass the recommendation along to Elara later.

Currently, she had no dog to neuter.

Before heading back to the office, Sienna made up the new bed with fresh sheets and took a quick afternoon nap.

The verdict: it was infinitely more comfortable than her old wooden frame. After just a brief rest, she felt entirely rejuvenated.

-

Ever since their disastrous encounter at the restaurant, Sienna hadn't crossed paths with Jorrod for three or four days.

By "crossed paths," she meant coming within a ten-foot radius of him.

In the past, she at least maintained the facade of calling him "Mr. Vaughn," but now she couldn't even be bothered to pretend. She treated both her ex-boyfriend and her former boss with the same strategy: she acted completely blind to his existence.

The next time she heard his name mentioned outside of work-related matters...

...was when Elara frantically called to inform her that Harvey Miller had been sued by Jorrod and was currently being held at a nearby detention center.
