"..."
A faint wave of absolute despair slowly washed over Sienna.
For a split second, her mind rapidly weighed the options: being caught in a highly inappropriate video scandal versus aggressively making out with Jorrod in broad daylight.
It felt like choosing between stepping in dog shit or falling into a cow pie—either way, it was going to be a disaster.
Sienna threw a conflicted, pleading look at Jorrod.
He, on the other hand, remained infuriatingly calm. There was no visible emotion on his face, though a careful look revealed a slight tightening of his brow. His downward gaze almost seemed to carry a silent question.
Sienna took a deep breath.
Just as she was about to throw caution to the wind and initiate a quick, entirely perfunctory peck to get it over with, Quincy issued his next demand.
"I want to see some tongue! A French kiss! The kind they have to censor on television! Don't give me any of that kid-friendly garbage, I won't buy it."
"..."
In Sienna's mind, the sharp-eyed veteran artist instantly transformed into a dirty old man desperate for a front-row seat to an explicit show.
She decisively chose the dog shit.
Sienna whipped her head toward Quincy, her tone dripping with utmost sincerity. "Mr. Shepherd, we've been together for so long that we're basically an old married couple. You know how it is—watching an old married couple kiss would just give you nightmares. I've been having trouble sleeping lately anyway, and I simply can't bring myself to do it."
Jorrod remained silent, listening to her excuse as he lowered his eyes, his gaze resting quietly on the top of her soft hair.
Quincy gave them a look that clearly screamed 'I know you're faking.' "Is it that you can't bring yourself to do it, or that you literally *can't* do it?"
He snorted. "Where did you hire this actress to try and fool me? You really thought this would get you through my front door? I saw through it the second I opened it."
See? The moment a kiss was demanded, the entire facade had crumbled.
"Quin—" Jorrod started, but before he could finish the word, Sienna grabbed the hem of his tailored suit jacket and yanked him roughly behind her.
Wearing an expression of absolute, fearless martyrdom, Sienna leaned in close to Quincy and whispered a few hurried sentences right into his ear.
When she pulled back, Quincy's thoughtful, lingering gaze was completely glued to her.
Jorrod had no idea what Sienna had just whispered. He only watched as the stubborn old man—who had relentlessly rejected him for months—suddenly looked him up and down, lowering his eyes as if deep in thought.
After a long pause, Quincy abruptly turned his back and started walking toward the courtyard.
"Fine, come inside."
