I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 229

Sienna thought it over, finally sighed, and pulled her hand back.

Jorrod remained silent. He simply gave her a long look before turning around and getting back into the car.

Through the car door, Sienna didn't forget to remind him, "Don't forget to look for my phone, Mr. Vaughn!"

The car smoothly accelerated past her.

Sienna watched the rear bumper disappear down the road.

He sure left in a hurry.

Now that Jorrod was back, Silas Lester wanted to grab lunch with him.

Even though this trip ended up being a wild goose chase, Silas figured he still deserved some credit for his effort.

When he called, Jorrod rejected him immediately.

His excuse: he was tired.

Silas didn't get it. What was so tiring about talking some sense into an old man? In the past, his friend would work late into the night and never utter a word of complaint.

When he pressed further, the other man simply refused to elaborate.

After hanging up, Jorrod glanced at his watch.

It was eleven-forty. No wonder Silas wanted to grab lunch.

Jorrod stared straight ahead, his calm gaze falling on the driver's seat as he got lost in thought.

As the car slowly idled at a red light, the crimson glow reflecting in his eyes, his lips parted. He suddenly asked, "Driver, do you know anywhere nearby that sells the Sweet Bean Pastries?"

He had peculiar habits. Once he found something he liked to eat, he had no desire to change it for a while.
