I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 246

"Nathaniel Yale was right. You're older, and you're far too preachy."

Originally, Jorrod Vaughn had only been holding her hands to keep her from thrashing, but at those words, the man's expression immediately darkened.

He let go of her hands and let out a cold laugh. "Oh, so he's wonderful? He's young and energetic, and that completely satisfies you?"

The alcohol was thoroughly numbing her nerves, so Sienna Quinn didn't fully grasp the meaning behind his words.

But she could still detect the harsh, unyielding coldness in his tone. Pouting her lips, she suddenly burst into tears.

Aside from the day he regained his memories, this was the first time Jorrod had ever seen her cry.

She had a resilient personality, the type who wouldn't shed a tear even if the sky were falling. Yet, simply because he made a snide remark about Nathaniel, she had pulled the blanket over herself and was sobbing uncontrollably.

A man who effortlessly navigated every crisis found himself entirely at a loss. His hand hovered awkwardly above the blanket, unsure whether to pull it away or let it be.

"What are you crying for."

She ignored him.

"Stop crying."

She was already shedding tears, and having to endure his reprimanding tone only made Sienna feel more wronged.

"If I admit Nathaniel is young and energetic, will you stop crying?"

She continued to cry.

"Sienna Quinn."

From beneath the blanket, a muffled, furious sob erupted. "You even want to control my crying!"

"You're being too loud."

"Then why don't you just die from the noise!"

Jorrod sighed, grabbed the corner of the blanket, and with a swift tug, threw it to the foot of the bed. "Aren't you suffocating in there."

Sienna grasped blindly for the blanket but missed, sitting straight up to reveal a face completely streaked with tears. "None of your business! I'm telling you, I quit! I want to resign, resign, resign!!"

The best way to stop a drunk person from throwing a tantrum was to simply agree with whatever they said. Jorrod nodded. "Fine. Then resign."

But hearing those words out loud only made Sienna more upset.

"Why should I resign! If I'm leaving, you have to fire me so I get my severance package!"

Seeing her temper flare up again, he decided to just humor the drunk. "Alright, I'll have Jeremy Jenkins handle your paperwork exclusively."

Sienna wailed even louder. "I hate you so much! You only ever bully me, you can't stand the sight of me, and now you can't wait to fire me and have someone handle it exclusively. You devious snake..."

"..."

Jorrod was completely done trying to reason with her.
