I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 25

After Elara left.

In the quiet air, Sienna suddenly felt a trace of unfamiliarity in the home she had lived in for years.

Sienna glanced at Jorrod, feeling a wave of resistance welling up inside her.

She still couldn't bring herself to follow her friend's advice and take him in.

Sienna lived alone, often skipping meals and entirely used to her own rough-around-the-edges lifestyle.

This pampered billionaire, used to a life of absolute luxury, was now sick on top of everything. Having a silly puppy was one thing, but if she accidentally turned him into a dead puppy, she'd end up buried right alongside him.

Since she couldn't blatantly send him back, she decided to contact his family or friends.

Sienna rummaged through the suit jacket Jorrod had taken off last night. Sure enough, she found his phone in the pocket. Due to the impact, the screen was completely shattered, and the device was totally dead. She popped out the SIM card and temporarily slipped it into her spare phone, only to discover it was locked with a PIN code. Let alone checking his contacts, even making or receiving calls was impossible.

Immediately, Sienna called her friend, Harvey Miller.

Harvey was her childhood buddy, someone she had grown up with. Their parents were close, and as neighbors living directly across from each other, they visited frequently. Their parents had even tried to play matchmaker seeing how well they got along, but they knew each other's secrets way too well. They were great as friends, but the idea of being lovers completely repulsed them both.

Harvey now owned a phone repair shop. When he received Sienna's call and heard her explanation, he mentioned he was in the neighborhood. He offered to swing by to pick up the phone, saving her a trip to his shop.

Having sorted everything out, Sienna walked out of the bedroom.

Jorrod was still sitting obediently on the sofa, looking slightly restless. When he saw her, he stood up and happily called her Darling.

"You... you're not going to kick me out, are you?" Jorrod's eyes sparkled with joy, but hidden deep within was tension and lingering fear.

Sienna deliberately looked away, biting her lip, and mumbled a vague sound of agreement.

Mostly out of guilt, she bit the bullet and walked over.
