I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 267

"Sorry, I had no idea you'd be here so early, I..." Sienna's words died in her throat.

Her hand paused mid-air over the seatbelt as she stared at the man beside her, struggling to process the sight.

Jorrod shot her a glance, leaned over smoothly, took the seatbelt from her frozen grip, and pulled it across her.

With a sharp click, he buckled her in.

Sienna narrowed her eyes. "Carpooling?"

Jorrod settled back into his seat, his left hand resting casually at the top of the steering wheel as he stared straight ahead. "Yes. You and me. Carpooling."

Sienna let out a dry, humorless laugh.

She might not have known Jorrod's personal contact, but Rowena certainly did. Passing him off as the driver was undoubtedly Jorrod's scheme.

Abusing his professional power for personal gain.

And to think she had rushed down without breakfast and even addressed him with such polite familiarity.

Feeling utterly played, Sienna turned her head away, refusing to engage with him.

Just then, Jorrod tossed a paper bag onto her lap. It looked like breakfast, but Sienna didn't even check before instinctively tossing it right back at him.

The car descended into a sudden, tense silence.

"Got a spring loaded in your lap?" he noted dryly.

"Who knows what you're throwing at me," Sienna retorted. "If it was a thick stack of court subpoenas, I'd be ruined."

She heard a soft, amused sigh beside her.

Jorrod picked up the bag by the seal, leaned over again, and placed it firmly in her palm. "Breakfast."

Sienna didn't budge. "I don't want it. I already ate."
