I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 31

Harvey Miller turned the phone over in his hands, frowning. He looked at it from every angle but couldn't make heads or tails of the damage.

"How is it? Can you fix it today?" Sienna Quinn asked.

Harvey glanced up. "Today? Today I could buy you a new one."

"Is it that bad?"

"I could barely tell this was a phone, and you're asking if it's bad?"

Sienna sighed, at a loss. "So you can't fix it."

"Hey, don't doubt my skills," Harvey countered. "I can fix it, but it'll take about a week. I can't guarantee all the background apps will work, but taking calls shouldn't be an issue."

A week wasn't too long, but it wasn't short either. Still, it was within a timeframe Sienna could accept.

Just being able to make calls was enough.

She patted her buddy's shoulder, assigning him the heavy responsibility. "Alright. I'll buy you dinner when it's done."

Harvey stared at the shattered screen and clicked his tongue. "You think a guy like that has some mind-blowing stuff on here?"

Sienna shot him a warning glare. "Don't look at anything you shouldn't."

"I'm just chatting. If I snooped, that guy would definitely sue us both. I don't want to end up behind bars."

Sienna nodded in agreement. She figured Jorrod Vaughn must have been a ruthless judge in his past life, absolutely obsessed with locking people up for the slightest offense.

Having gotten what she needed, Sienna held out her hand. "Give me my key back."

She had lent Harvey her apartment key to drop off some things a while ago and completely forgot about it. She never expected him to just walk right in the middle of the day like this.

He had entered without making a single sound. No footsteps at all.

It nearly gave her a heart attack.

Harvey dropped the key into her palm and muttered, "And you said you two aren't messing around. You're already locking me out."

Sienna couldn't be bothered to entertain him. After ushering him out the door, she remembered Jorrod. It would take days to fix the phone, and she couldn't let him wear that same dress shirt the entire time.

She dug through her closet and found some of her father's old clothes from a decade ago. She picked out a set that looked relatively new, barely worn.
