His fingers gripped the white cotton fabric tighter and tighter. His knuckles turned pale, as if he was suppressing a suffocating wave of emotion.
"Go on..." Sienna urged.
Her words were cut off by a gasp.
Jorrod suddenly grabbed her arm and yanked her into the bathroom with him.
She stumbled forward, and with a loud thud, the door slammed shut.
She was abruptly pinned against the solid wooden door.
Startled, she looked up as his tall, muscular frame enveloped her.
Jorrod pulled her into a tight embrace, his arms wrapping around her as if terrified she might vanish. He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his long lashes brushing against her pale skin with every blink, sending a fluttering itch down her spine.
Instinctively, Sienna pushed against his chest.
But he was an immovable wall, trapping her completely.
"Jorrod! What are you doing!"
He refused to let go, his lips hovering right against her skin.
"Sienna, I only want you to have me."
His voice was deep, soft, and trembling against her neck.
The heat of his breath was scorching, and the slight brush of his lips sent a shiver down her neck that made her fingertips tingle.
She tried to scold him, but the words slipped out completely wrong.
Even she was shocked by how soft she sounded. "Let me go first..."
"I'll listen to you. I'll do whatever you say. Just please, only like me, okay..."
Her senses were on overdrive. Even though his words brushed right against her ear, Sienna couldn't process them. Her only thought was escape.
She frantically turned her head, but his lips chased her movement.
Breathing heavily, she managed to bite out an explanation. "He's just a friend! I never said I liked him!"
The man holding her seemed to freeze.
After a long pause, Jorrod finally released her. He lowered his head, his tear-filled eyes meeting hers, looking utterly heartbroken.
Almost instantly.
