Yet it was still completely vile, practically violating his senses.
He frowned as she walked toward him, bringing the offensive smell closer and closer as it attacked his nose.
"Sien—"
The rest of her name caught in his throat. He stiffened, staring down in absolute shock at the woman wrapping her arms around his waist.
Has she lost her damn mind?
Jorrod seized her by the collar and shoved her away.
Caught off guard, Sienna stumbled backward.
Jorrod did not look at her. Instead, his brow furrowed as he looked down at himself.
His shirt was wrinkled where she had grabbed him, and the lingering stench of alcohol clung to the fabric. This shirt would have to be thrown away.
The alcohol was hitting Sienna much harder now, and being shoved left her feeling even more dizzy.
She could only assume the man was angry with her.
Her guilt flared up again.
She had left this vulnerable, regressed patient all alone in the apartment for so long, breaking her promise right after abandoning him for hours...
If hugs were off-limits, maybe holding hands would work?
"Don't be mad. I didn't mean to. I promised I wouldn't leave you behind, and I meant it."
Didn't mean to? Leave him behind?
What sort of nonsense was this woman babbling about?
Jorrod grew increasingly bewildered. His heavy brows knit together as he stared at Sienna like she was a complete lunatic.
"What are you talking about?"
