Silas Lester took a moment to calm his racing heart.
"Ms. Quinn, don't misunderstand me. I don't mean anything by it. What I'm saying is, to make up for Vaughn's intrusion, I can use my connections to get you a position at Stellaris Corp."
Sienna Quinn was speechless. Good lord, it only took a few moments of bickering for him to go from calling him "Jorrod" to "Vaughn."
"No," she refused decisively. "I'm exhausted lately. I don't want to design. I just want to take some time off."
"Taking time off is fine! The Administrative Department happens to be short-staffed. You won't have to design anything, and you'll definitely be satisfied."
"I refuse."
Silas continued to sugarcoat the offer. "You know Stellaris Corp's position in the industry. Even if you decide to quit later, this will be a massive highlight on your resume. Right now, it's a golden opportunity handed to you on a silver platter."
Sienna scoffed. "Sorry, but I have zero interest in your great Stellaris Corp."
"Don't be so quick to turn me down. I haven't even mentioned the salary yet." Silas leaned in a half-step and whispered a number in her ear.
Sienna paused.
"Mr. Lester, how about we exchange numbers first?"
Silas stood at the door, talking with Sienna for a long time.
He went over some precautions regarding Jorrod Vaughn, especially concerning his condition. Silas explained that he would hire reliable, professional doctors for regular home visits and hoped Sienna would cooperate.
During the lulls in their conversation, Silas couldn't help but study the woman's face again.
He was genuinely curious about the person who managed to tame Jorrod into his current state.
She had a fiery personality, yet dressed rather simply.
Standing at about five foot seven, she wore a beige knit top paired with simple light blue jeans.
Her silky hair was tied in a messy low ponytail at the nape of her neck, secured with a basic black elastic. Her bare face was radiant and striking, easily rivaling the famous models his company frequently worked with.
So this was the type his cold-blooded friend liked after losing his memory.
He usually acted like a saint, completely avoiding smoke, alcohol, and women. He claimed smoke stank and perfume was suffocating. But the moment he got amnesia, his true nature slipped out—he just liked pretty girls.
It was one thing to shamelessly crash at a gorgeous girl's place, but he had even stolen a kiss from her.
Ugh!
