I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 62

He completely blocked out the light behind him. Towering like a solid wall, his sheer size and suppressive strength made it impossible for her to treat him like that innocent, silly boy.

In that moment, he stubbornly demanded an answer from her lips.

Sienna sighed, raising her gaze to meet his directly. "Yes, I was just about to send you away."

"Darling..."

"And it's not called sending you away. That's where you belong. You're the CEO of Stellaris Corp, a member of the Vaughn family. You can't just hide out forever in my tiny little apartment..."

"I'm a burden, aren't I?"

"I never said you were a burden."

"But that's what you did."

"...It has nothing to do with being a burden. It's just... you still don't understand. Forget it, I can't explain this to you..."

"Darling, you hate me," Jorrod cut her off.

"I don't hate you."

Sienna wasn't lying. The 'you' she meant was the Jorrod standing right in front of her. She wouldn't go so far as to say she liked him, but after spending a few days together, she absolutely didn't hate him either.

"I meant the me before the amnesia."

Sienna opened her mouth, but no words came out. She lowered her eyes back to the floor.

She more than hated him.

To be entirely honest, the moment she saw him get into that car crash, a wicked part of her actually felt a rush of satisfaction.

Seeing the woman avoid the topic, Jorrod knew his guess was spot on.

"I know my head isn't working right, and there are a lot of things I don't understand, but I've been studying hard on the phone you gave me."

"I don't need you to take care of me, and I won't cause you any trouble. I just beg you not to kick me out."

"I'll try my best to get my memory back, and when I do, I'll change every single thing you don't like about me."

"Okay?"

"Look at me. Just look at me a little longer."

"Try not to hate me anymore."

"Okay..."

Jorrod's tone was incredibly sincere and earnest. By the end, a slight choke crept into his voice.

Silas had wasted quite a bit of time here.

By now, the sky outside had darkened, and the lights inside hadn't been turned on. In the dimness, their gazes intertwined at close range.

Jorrod's eyes were dark. As he leaned against the door, the veins on the back of his hand bulged, and the muscles in his forearm pulled tight—a sheer, overpowering display of strength that sharply contrasted with his current vulnerable state.

His Adam's apple bobbed before he slowly lowered his head.

"Darling, I don't have a cold..."

His voice was deep and raspy, rough as sandpaper but textured. It brushed softly against Sienna's ears, sending a thrilling, tingling sensation through her that made her heart race.

Sienna froze in a daze.

Until his scorching breath ghosted over the tip of her nose.

It burned her chest, making her heart violently clench.

The moment softness pressed against her, she shoved the man away in absolute horror, jolting awake as if waking from a dream!

"No, you can't..."

The pushed man stumbled, taking a half-step back. He stood glued to the spot, his head bowed and eyes slightly lowered, ultimately saying nothing at all.
