Silas drove away from Sienna's place.
The very first thing he did was head straight to the Vaughn estate.
He had already rehearsed his excuses on the drive over.
"He went abroad?"
"Yes, Theodore," Silas said.
Last year, Stellaris Corp developed a revolutionary tech that monopolized the market, and top-tier international investment funds had recently been pouring money into it. It was no secret. He knew that even the Patriarch, who constantly berated his grandson, had stopped his nagging back then and actually praised him in front of reporters.
A grandfather praising a grandson was perfectly normal.
But this brutally strict patriarch usually produced emotionally suppressed, cold-blooded grandsons. Getting a word of praise out of him was harder than reaching the heavens.
"Jorrod personally rushed over to France just for this."
Technically, he wasn't lying.
But mere investments couldn't summon a VIP like Jorrod to personally fly out. Someone else had gone on the business trip, but Silas pinned it all squarely on Jorrod's head.
For a moment, the Vaughn family struggled to process the information.
Theodore remained silent, letting out several heavy sighs, his internal feelings completely unreadable.
At the very least, the anxiety that had kept him on edge for days finally settled.
He pinched the bridge of his nose. "So he goes abroad, and he can't even tell his own family?"
"Uh, well, when Jorrod is working, he ignores everything else. He's a total workaholic..."
Theodore scolded again, "Fine, let him go. I'm not entirely unreasonable. Why were you stuttering so much when I asked you about it a few days ago?"
Silas stammered, "I just... I was afraid you'd start complaining about Stellaris Corp again..."
"I've seen plenty of businesses rise and fall. Young entrepreneurs like Jorrod, who are steady and never arrogant, are a rare breed. Being able to polish Stellaris Corp into a towering giant in the industry within just a few years is even rarer."
Silas clapped his hands. "Yeah, exactly."
"Now that the situation is clear and he's safe, let the kid do what he wants. Honing his experience and skills is a good thing."
Silas agreed. "Yeah, exactly."
Theodore let out a cold snort. "Wait for him to finish honing his skills? I can wait, but the Vaughn Group can't. When the time comes, I won't leave him any of the Vaughn Group's shares!"
Theron sighed. "Dad, Jorrod was born and raised to be the heir. The Vaughn Group will be his sooner or later, and it absolutely has to be his."
Hearing his son's obvious favoritism toward his grandson in every word, Theodore's lips moved, but he ultimately said nothing more.
A moment later, he turned to Silas. "You made the trip all the way here, Silas. You must be hungry. Stay and have dinner with us tonight."
"Yeah, exac—wait..."
