I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 70

Martha had been unhappy about this situation for a long time. Her Liam was exceptional, graduated from a top university, and was now hired by a massive corporation. It was perfectly normal for girls to want to get close to him.

But if it progressed to dating, they absolutely had to thoroughly investigate the girl's family background. He couldn't just blindly date a girl just because she had a pretty face!

Sienna was obedient and sensible, that was true.

But career-wise, she fell way too far behind their Liam.

Marriage was about mutual support, not a one-sided rescue mission.

What difference was there between that and giving out charity?

The more Martha thought about it, the more uncomfortable she felt. "Don't ever say that again."

Stellaris Corp wasn't exactly close to Sienna's apartment, but compared to Syllable Studio, it wasn't far at all.

So even though today was her first day reporting in, she had walked this commute hundreds of times and knew it by heart.

She remembered it well.

Back when she was still at Syllable Studio, whenever work got stifling during her lunch break, she would often go to the hallway window to catch some fresh air with Kels.

Facing the cool breeze blowing in from the high-rise window, all she had to do was look up to see the majestic, imposing skyscraper standing tall in the center of the city, piercing straight through the clouds.

Thanks to Silas pulling some strings beforehand, the moment she arrived downstairs, a middle-aged man clutching a folder was specifically waiting for her by the entrance.

What she hadn't anticipated was that the two girls at the front desk would recognize her even faster than he did.

After throwing a glance her way, they pressed their heads together and started whispering.

"That girl looks so familiar. She looks a bit like the one they said had the Boss's baby last time..."

"You're right, they look exactly alike. But this one is way prettier than the last one."

At the next desk, Mindy pushed her chair back and greeted Sienna. "Sienna, the company cafeteria is completely free, but you need a cafeteria pass. Since you just started and haven't gotten yours yet, you can just use mine for now."

Sienna nodded politely, thanking her.

Mindy had only been with the company for a year. She was naturally bubbly, talkative, and instantly friendly, immediately pulling Sienna into the office gossip loop.

"The vibe on our floor is amazing. We're all young, so we have a ton to talk about. You'll see what I mean soon enough."

"The floors above us are all the design department. I've gone up there to deliver documents, and let me tell you, it is so intensely suffocating that I have to walk on my tiptoes, terrified of making even a peep. You can't even compare it to our floor."

"But it makes sense. They're designers, so the pressure is obviously massive."

"I heard that the new product they just finalized last month got completely shot down by the Boss with a single sentence. And they weren't told to just tweak it—the whole thing was completely scrapped. Time is running out, the workload is insane, and the entire new product design team is scrambling right now."

Sienna had already heard about this from Silas, so she wasn't particularly shocked.

Still, she casually asked, "Why?"
