They were young, fresh college graduates who brought a massive wave of youthful energy to the department, greeting everyone like old friends.
The team dinner wasn't actually that huge.
It was just the people they worked closely with, plus the new hires, making it a group of about twenty.
The venue was a bar not too far from the office.
Sienna hadn't planned on drinking, but after a brutal losing streak in the drinking games, she had no choice but to down a few glasses.
Janice patted her on the shoulder. "Tomorrow is the weekend, so everyone can drink as much as they want! If you have a car, I'll call a designated driver. If you don't, my husband is on duty tonight to make sure every single one of you gets home safe."
Across the table, a man in a blue plaid shirt clutched his glass of juice, shooting his wife a resigned look.
Yes, tonight, he was strictly the chauffeur.
The party dragged on until eleven at night.
When it was finally Sienna's turn to get a ride, she rubbed her throbbing, alcohol-soaked temples.
"Janice, just drop me back at the office. I've been sleeping there for the past few days anyway."
Stellaris Corp actually provided nap rooms to ensure their employees were well-rested. While the space was a bit cramped, they had all the essential amenities condensed into one room.
But sleeping there after drinking...
Janice frowned. "The alcohol we had tonight was pretty strong. You can't sleep at the office in this state. Give me your address, and when we get there, you can have your boyfriend come down to pick you up."
Before Sienna could even argue, the coworkers around them swarmed in like sharks smelling blood.
"Wait? Sienna, you have a boyfriend?"
"Yeah, I've seen you sleeping at the office every night this week. I thought you were single and unattached like me!"
"Did you guys get into a fight?"
"You kicked your boyfriend out and you're sleeping at the office? What kind of logic is that?"
"Cruel woman."
"You're the cruel one! If I were a guy, I would never let my girlfriend sleep in the office..."
Janice cut them off decisively. "Alright, alright, that's enough. Sienna, if you guys are fighting, this is the perfect time to make up. Give me the address."
Helpless, and ultimately unable to out-stubborn her boss's determined matchmaking, Sienna handed over her address.
Based on the route, Sienna was the very last drop-off.
When the car pulled up to her apartment building, she reached for the door handle, only to be stopped by the couple.
"Call your boyfriend. Tell him to come down and get you."
There was no way Sienna was calling Jorrod.
