Maybe it was because she had dumped everything out at once, but Sienna felt incredibly vindicated.
And also much, much more intoxicated.
Looking at men...
Right now, there was only one man in front of her to look at.
And as luck would have it, this man had a face that could bring nations to their knees.
Her gaze traced the sharp, dark arch of his eyebrows down to the straight, noble bridge of his nose, sliding along his flawlessly sculpted jawline before landing on his soft, faintly flushed lips.
Everything was arranged with agonizing perfection, down to the tiny, dark mole beneath his eye, which, up close, softened the lethal sharpness of his features.
Honestly, before she had actually met Jorrod Vaughn, her impression of him had been of an impeccably dressed, ruthless corporate sociopath. His expression was always devastatingly cold, as if absolutely nothing in this world could ever make him flinch.
He used to wear thin-rimmed metal glasses—sometimes gold, sometimes silver—and the eyes behind those lenses were always terrifyingly dead and condescending. He was incredibly tall, and he always looked down on people. The internet used to say he looked at people the way a man looked at a stray dog.
Because of those glasses, she had never noticed the little mole before.
That was exactly how she differentiated between the *real* 'Jorrod Vaughn' and *this* 'Jorrod Vaughn'.
Sienna was staring openly at his averted, devastatingly handsome profile, purely out of aesthetic appreciation.
"Handsome."
Jorrod's lips pressed into a tight line, remaining silent. He lowered his gaze, and noticing she was lying in an uncomfortable position that risked exposing herself, he leaned over and gently adjusted her against the sofa cushions.
Once she was settled, he didn't pull away, choosing to sit right beside her instead.
He had never cared about his looks, frequently viewing his physical appearance as a useless, superficial shell. But hearing it come from Sienna's lips made it sound incredible. He actually found himself feeling profoundly grateful for it—if being handsome meant she would look at him a little longer, then he was thrilled.
After a brief pause, Jorrod turned his head to look at her.
"Then will you come back and live here from now on?" Jorrod suddenly looked incredibly shy, the tips of his ears burning bright red, but he gathered every ounce of courage he had to finish the sentence. "So you can look at me... every day."
Sienna burst out laughing. "There are a million handsome guys out there. Being pretty doesn't put food on the table."
With just one word of praise, Jorrod's hopes had skyrocketed, only to be instantly, effortlessly crushed back down by her next sentence.
"I can cook for you," he offered desperately.
Sienna was entirely drunk now.
That beautiful mouth of his was spouting so many sweet, confusing things. Her hazy eyes locked onto his striking face, and she leaned in another inch, her warm breath ghosting over his neck. "Cook what?"
Jorrod's entire body seized up. Terrified to even breathe, he watched helplessly as Sienna drifted closer, stopping just a hair away from his lips.
