I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 82

A deep voice echoed right behind her ear.

"Can I hold you while you sleep?"

Sienna didn't want to answer, but a few seconds later, the man asked again.

She offered a dismissive hum of agreement.

Given permission, his strong arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her firmly against his chest. The cotton fabric of his pajamas pressed against her with a scorching heat, and he held her so tightly it felt like he was trying to embed her into his very ribs.

In all her years, excluding the time she wore diapers, Sienna had never slept in such a position.

She felt deeply uncomfortable and suffocatingly hot.

She nudged his firm stomach with her elbow. "Are you trying to strangle me?"

Jorrod instantly loosened his grip, though his arm remained securely locked around her.

His face hovered just above the nape of her neck, his steady breaths ghosting rhythmically across her skin.

Once his breathing finally grew even and drawn out.

Sienna pried his heavy arm off her waist and carefully, slowly turned around.

Her heart skipped a violent beat as she met a pair of dark, bottomless eyes in the dead of night.

Caught red-handed.

"You... you're still awake?"

Jorrod lowered his gaze, staring at her intensely without uttering a single word.

"I asked you a... mm..."

His arm tightened around her once more, effortlessly locking her back against his chest as he aimed straight for her parted lips.

He kissed her without hesitation.

It was an overwhelmingly dominant kiss, a scorching entanglement against her lips and teeth.

His burning hand trailed up the bare expanse of her spine, sparking a trail of fiery tremors wherever it touched, before ultimately cradling the back of her neck. His thumb pressed firmly against her jumping pulse, ruthlessly depriving her of oxygen in the dark.

Sienna was no match for his strength. Not to mention, he kissed with such desperate urgency it felt as though he wanted to swallow her whole.

She let out a muffled whimper, the hands pushing against his chest growing weak and pliant.

She felt a pang of regret.

She should have put her clothes back on while he was in the bathroom.

Now, she had made it entirely too convenient for the man pressed against her. His hands and lips transformed into a wandering serpent, flicking a dangerous tongue in the dark as it explored the silky expanse of her skin. The heat was like a blazing inferno, threatening to ignite every inch of her.

His breathing grew noticeably heavier against her ear.

"Walking around feels so much better. Staring at that screen was about to make me go blind. Here, Sienna, your portion..."

Sienna turned her head and took the files.

Mindy froze in her tracks, her eyes wide with shock.

"Sienna, your eyes?"

Sienna blinked. "What about them?"

"Sienna, your voice??"

Sienna hadn't tied her hair up today. It fell in lazy waves over her shoulders, tucked casually behind her right ear, the pitch-black strands making her skin look incredibly luminous.

She was wearing a loose, oversized turtleneck sweater.

Though the collar was high, it draped loosely, not clinging to her skin.

Mindy was standing right across from her, and thanks to the height difference and a very fortuitous angle, she caught a glaringly obvious patch of deep red on Sienna's radiant neck.

It was highly visual, and entirely seductive.

"Sienna, your neck???"

Sienna didn't respond, her expression remaining perfectly blank as she turned back to her work.
