Elara was always busy at the hospital, and since the restaurant was near Stellaris Corp, Sienna arrived early and waited at their table.
On her phone, a message from Jorrod popped up.
Jorrod: [Are you still sore?]
Jorrod: [I'm sorry, Darling. I couldn't control myself.]
Jorrod: [I bought some topical ointment for the bruising. Let me put it on you when you get home, okay?]
Sienna: [Didn't I tell you not to leave the apartment?]
Jorrod: [I didn't. I ordered delivery.]
Sienna stared at the screen for a few seconds, her expression blank, gently biting her lower lip.
Receiving no response, the other side texted again: [Darling?]
Sienna tapped the screen.
[I'm fine. Keep it for yourself.]
Jorrod: [Then what time are you coming home? I made dinner. It's your favorite.]
Sienna hadn't planned on replying further, but she was afraid the man would starve himself waiting for her.
Sienna: [Eat by yourself. I'm having dinner out with a friend.]
Sienna: [Also, go to sleep early. Don't wait up, I'm not coming home tonight.]
Sienna had no idea.
The moment that message was sent, the man on the other end panicked.
The harsh screen light reflected in his dark, bottomless pupils, making his eyes tremble violently.
The man's phone call came through immediately.
The device vibrated relentlessly against the table.
Right at that moment, the waitress stepped up, holding the menu with both hands resting on the edge of the table.
"Hold on a second." Sienna answered the call, and the waitress knowingly stepped back to give the customer privacy.
On the line, Jorrod's voice was frantic and clipped, laced with a distinct tremor as he spoke at rapid speed.
"I... I'm sorry, Darling. Are you mad at me?"
But she thought that would be the end of it.
It wasn't until her thighs started aching, and the battery-powered nightlight that usually lasted for hours finally died, that she realized something was terribly wrong. The man on top of her seemed practically medicated—endless, fiercely driven, and entirely immune to exhaustion.
Was he a perpetual motion machine?
Jorrod gave her absolutely zero downtime.
With his brilliant mind, he proved to be exceptionally gifted even in this department. Whenever she complained she was tired, he simply picked her up and shifted into a new position.
He supported her back, lifted her legs, and coaxed her with sweet words, insisting that if she just leaned on him, it wouldn't be tiring.
Whenever she tried to object again, he would swallow her words with a kiss or lightly bite her earlobe, forcefully trapping every 'no' in her throat until the only sounds she could make were muffled whimpers and soft sounds of protest.
"Don't... stay away from home..." His words were so fragile they sounded like they were going to shatter.
That broken, heavy tone held absolutely zero resemblance to the man who had pinned her down with red eyes the night before, completely dominating her with ruthless intensity.
Sienna gritted her teeth, but her heart softened anyway.
"Alright, alright, I'll come back. But it'll be late. Don't wait up for me."
