And the first time she met Jorrod Vaughn, it was basically the same reaction. She had been completely blown away by his looks.
But she was older and more mature now, and considering the bad blood between him and her best friend, she purely admired his face from an aesthetic standpoint.
"So, who slept with who?"
"I slept with him for one second, and he slept with me for the entire night and the entire day."
"...So, you're planning on being with him?"
That was the million-dollar question.
Sienna felt a massive headache coming on. She picked up a small pastry and chewed slowly. "If I call it a one-night stand, this version of Jorrod will be completely devastated. But if I actually get together with him, the real Jorrod will probably sue me into oblivion when he finds out. I can't break this Jorrod's heart, but if he doesn't suffer now, the real Jorrod is going to make me suffer a lot more later..."
Elara's head was spinning from the logic.
"Who cares about this version or that version? He hasn't forgotten you just because he lost his memory. Since he likes you and you like him, just enjoy the moment." She had a very open-minded view on life. Given their combined aesthetic value, she was more than happy to see them together.
"I like his face. And his body," Sienna emphasized.
Elara rolled her eyes. "Isn't it the same thing? The internet calls it a purely physical attraction."
Sienna fired back, "So Derry has a purely physical attraction to me too? He licks my legs with his tongue hanging out every time he sees me."
Elara chuckled. "If you managed to get together with Derry, I'd gladly accept you as my human daughter-in-law. I promise I'd never pressure you for grandkids."
Even if she wanted to, she couldn't.
Sienna sighed and decisively ended the topic.
After the two friends finished their meal, Elara pulled a small object out of her purse. It was wrapped in burgundy cloth. Inside was a small, ancient coin coated in a dark, mysterious patina, inscribed with elegant Victorian lettering that read, 'Rare Victorian Sovereign'.
Sienna blinked in surprise. "What's this?"
Elara handed it over. "Doesn't Mr. Quinn love antiques? Someone gifted this to my dad, and he thought it was beautiful, so he asked me to pass it on to you so you could give it to your dad."
George Quinn had a hobby of collecting antiques and curiosities; it wasn't a secret. Back in their school days, Sienna had even taken Elara on a tour of her father's little room, a small space crammed with the odd trinkets George had spent half his life collecting.
Back then, George would always smile, pat his daughter's head, and call the collection his treasures, promising to leave it all to his primary treasure when he got old.
The primary treasure, of course, was Sienna.
Except, when she was little, she couldn't understand why anyone would want to hoard such old, ugly things.
