He sucked gently on her lower lip, his tongue sweeping expertly inside. Sienna's resolve completely melted; a soft, suppressed whimper escaped her throat as her hands found his chest, sinking even deeper into his embrace.
The kiss was scorching, quickly spiraling into a deep, inescapable entanglement.
Slowly, their positions shifted. Jorrod effortlessly maneuvered her so she was lying partially beneath him.
The man held her fiercely, kissing her with relentless depth. Sienna tilted her head back to take it all, her fingers nervously clenching the fabric of his pajama shirt. Her curled fists weakly patted his broad shoulder.
"One... one minute..."
The minute was up.
Jorrod pulled back instantly.
But before she could even catch her breath, he dragged his lips down to her slender, radiant neck.
The arch was beautiful, her throat completely vulnerable, pulled taut by the angle of her head.
The collar of her pajamas had been pushed aside. Sienna felt the scalding heat of his breath burning her skin, the wet, agonizingly slow trail of his lips, and the ticklish graze of his straight nose...
She couldn't hold back a soft moan. The sound was devastatingly sweet, and instantly filled her with embarrassment.
She bit down hard on her lip, refusing to make another sound, her lip turning pale under the pressure.
Jorrod brushed his thumb against her mouth, forcing it open.
"Don't hold it in. It sounds beautiful."
He added in a dark, raspy whisper, "I love hearing it."
Sienna shook her head, tightly shutting her eyes, and bit down even harder.
Jorrod offered his hand. "Don't bite yourself, you'll hurt your lip. Bite me."
Sienna grabbed his heavy hand and clamped her teeth down viciously on the side of his palm.
She heard a low, pained grunt, followed immediately by a rush of cool air as the blanket was flipped off her waist.
---
The next morning, Sienna was in a desperate rush.
She didn't even have time to eat breakfast.
At the front door, Jorrod grabbed her arm and stuffed a packed pastry into her handbag.
Sienna didn't want to look at him.
He spoke in a soft, coaxing whisper. "I'm sorry."
His apologies always came at lightning speed, but the moment they were alone again, he would tirelessly latch right back onto her, refusing to let go.
"Next time I lose control, you can punish me."
Punish him? Who would dare punish him?
The next time they were in bed, he would probably just take it all out on her as revenge.
She spent the morning hyper-focused on finishing all her pending tasks.
At noon, she told Mindy she was heading out, grabbed her keys, and drove straight toward George's factory.
It wasn't particularly close.
She skipped lunch.
It took about forty minutes to arrive at the destination.
But the closer she got to the factory, the more unsettled she felt.
It wasn't until she parked on the side of the road and looked out at the unfamiliar construction site ahead that her confusion evolved into full-blown panic.
She stood there, utterly paralyzed.
It felt as though a lightning bolt had struck her brain. With a deafening buzz, she lost all track of reality.
The familiar white factory building where her father used to drop her off to do her homework had vanished entirely, as if it had been erased from existence.
In its place stood towering, imposing walls of blue construction hoarding, aggressively boxing in the massive plot of land. Stamped evenly across the metal panels were stark white construction logos.
Everything felt completely alien. Completely cold.
A violent tremor wrecked through her body.
In an instant, her mind went completely blank.
