I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 94

Afraid she'd slip up if she kept talking, Sienna used exhaustion as an excuse to escape the living room.

"Look at your daughter, getting jealous of me after a few words."

"Be serious."

"Yes, dear."

That night, tucked under the covers in her childhood bedroom.

Sienna didn't expect to get a message from Harvey Miller at this hour.

The text itself was strange, too.

He asked what was wrong and if she was in a bad mood.

Confused, Sienna called him right back.

Harvey wasn't the type to hide things well, and after a couple of questions, Sienna figured it out.

Jorrod must have contacted him.

She didn't dwell on how those two had managed to connect.

Nor did she have any interest in learning more about Jorrod.

But as far as her tangled mess with Jorrod went, she was done. Anyone who came to play peacemaker would immediately be thrown into the enemy camp.

Harvey hit a brick wall.

Because she had genuinely cried, Sienna's eyes were still a bit swollen when she went to work the next day.

While grabbing water in the breakroom, she bumped right into Rena.

They exchanged polite greetings, but as Sienna walked away, Rena stared at her back for a few seconds, looking thoughtful.

-

Sienna swore she was entirely done with Jorrod.

Aside from basic living necessities, she ignored all his texts.

She answered his calls out of a sense of responsibility, but kept the conversation strictly functional. The second he brought up their relationship, she hung up without an ounce of hesitation.

However, not even three days later, she broke her own rule.

The call came from her apartment complex's property management.

They told her that her family member had gotten into a physical altercation with another resident. The other party demanded she come deal with it in person, refusing to accept any form of mediation otherwise.

Simply put, Jorrod had beaten someone up.
