I Fell for the Man Who Ruined Me, Then He Forgot He Ever Loved Me Back novel Chapter 95

At the end of the day, Jorrod was the one who threw the punches. They were entirely in the wrong, and it was perfectly reasonable for the man to demand compensation.

She had a lawyer friend who happened to have the day off. She sent a quick text asking for advice, and the response came back immediately.

Based on the visible injuries, Sienna offered a compensation of five hundred dollars.

Unexpectedly, the man scoffed and aggressively hiked up the price, demanding five thousand.

His reasoning included the severity of the injuries, emotional distress, and lost wages.

Anything less than that, and he was calling the cops, refusing any mediation.

However, he graciously offered that if Jorrod got down on his knees and begged for forgiveness, he'd cut them some slack and only take twenty-five hundred.

That was when Sienna realized this guy was going to be a massive headache.

Jorrod uncharacteristically lost his cool. "I went easy on you! If you say that kind of garbage again, I'll hit you again!"

"You see this?! You see this?! The guy is out of his mind, he's an absolute lunatic! Keeping him in this neighborhood is a danger to us all!"

Sienna dragged him over to the wall and interrogated him.

She managed to get the entire story out of him, piece by piece.

Jorrod had gone down to buy something and caught the store owner on a video call with a friend.

"Total eye candy! The name on her work badge is Sienna something, I forgot, it's a mouthful."

Jorrod had paused.

"The girl is absolutely stunning. She comes down in her pajamas, God knows who she's trying to seduce. I just wonder if she's wearing a bra under there, tsk..."

Listening to Jorrod recount the conversation, Sienna's fists finally clenched tight.

Jorrod also mentioned that when the man put his phone down, the screen was clearly displaying an upskirt photo of a girl. It was blurry, definitely not some stock image downloaded from the internet.

"Alright, I've got it."

Sienna offered Jorrod a brief word of comfort, pulled up a chair, and sat directly across from the man.

"Five thousand. I can pay that, but you have to sign an agreement promising not to pursue any further action once the money is transferred."

Hearing that, the man agreed without a second thought.

After the paperwork was signed, Sienna insisted on taking photos for her records.

She plastered the man's vile behavior all over the wall right next to his store's entrance.

A crowd of neighbors quickly gathered.

Pointing at the shop, they cursed the owner out, dragging his name through the mud.

A few of the more impulsive residents even brought leftover paint from their renovations and hurled it against the glass doors of the convenience store, turning the scene into total chaos.

It was too late to head back to the office, and going in now would seem a little too try-hard anyway.

For once, she walked home with Jorrod.

"If something like this happens again, don't be reckless. I can handle a few nasty comments; they don't hurt me. There are a million ways to handle a problem, but if you throw the first punch, you lose the upper hand, and it just creates a ton of obstacles for fixing it later."

Sienna had truly seen it all today.

She couldn't believe she was actually standing here, giving someone a sincere lecture on not acting impulsively.

Jorrod nodded obediently.

"Okay, I'll listen to you."
