I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 157

By the time Zoe realized what Hayden wanted to do, it was too late.

She was pinned beneath him, and Hayden's already dark eyes had grown even more profound.

He stared down at her, his gaze locked on her slightly open collar.

The top two buttons of her white shirt were undone, revealing her delicate collarbones.

A slender collarbone necklace glittered brilliantly against her luminous skin.

Hayden's Adam's apple bobbed heavily.

To leave Zoe hanging and teach her a lesson, he had gone on a business trip for a full seven days.

Seven days of non-stop work.

When he thought of her, aside from taking care of it himself, he couldn't even make a phone call.

Given Zoe's behavior over the years, if he really showed her a good attitude, she would climb all over him.

But this woman was truly ruthless.

She hadn't sent a single message to Colin.

In the past, if he was away for just a day, he would hear her voice from Colin's phone no less than five times.

At least it would soothe the ache of missing her.

Zoe's caring also gave him more motivation to work, giving him something to look forward to on his way home.

This time, Colin's phone was dead silent.

He had seriously doubted several times whether Colin's phone was broken.

"Hayden, don't mess around. Lily is still in her room."

It was still early, just past dinnertime. Even though Lily was young, what if she came running over to find her and saw her and Hayden like this?

Hayden gripped her face with his hand and looked down at her.

"Don't change the subject."

This woman was in desperate need of discipline.

Since when had she ever cared if their daughter walked in while they were intimate?

Besides, once Lily went into her room, she rarely came out.

She had a calm personality like him, but she was very timid.

She always cowered around the house, which wasn't like the Thorne family at all.

Then again, Zoe had walked on thin ice for five years of marriage, so she had probably raised Lily to be the same way.

Zoe wasn't changing the subject; she was genuinely afraid of setting a bad example for the child.

"We haven't seen each other for days, didn't you miss me?"

Hayden thought of the comic book she had drawn again.

She really did know how to find an outlet for her longing.

But, did imagining him while reading that kind of comic really help?

Zoe wanted nothing more than to slap him awake.
