I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 184

Hayden dropped the brutal threat, and Zoe knew he never made promises he couldn't keep. Cherry braved the stormy night to deliver the original manuscripts to Blackwood Manor. Zoe carefully placed the heavy box of drawings outside Hayden’s bedroom door. She heard movement inside, but he didn't acknowledge her.

In the dead of night, when the sprawling mansion was completely silent, Hayden finally opened his door. The heavy box sat quietly on the floor. He hauled it inside.

He picked up the first volume and started flipping through it. Before he knew it, he had read straight through the night. The sound of the running shower echoed from his bathroom every thirty minutes. By the time dawn broke, painting the sky a pale grey, Hayden collapsed onto his bed, utterly exhausted.

Damn it. He had to lock these things in a vault. If he kept reading them, he was going to die of severe dehydration.

At the Easton Group headquarters, Sienna Winters walked into the lobby clutching a massive bouquet of fresh flowers. Hayden stepped out of the private elevator at the exact same time. Seeing him, Sienna put on a shy, delicate smile.

“I don't know what's going on these past two days. People keep sending me flowers and gifts. My office is so full I barely have room to sit,” she murmured, carefully watching his reaction.

Hayden didn't say a word, simply nodding as he walked past her into his office. Sienna’s face flushed with lingering embarrassment.

Valerie Yates gasped as Sienna walked in. “Ms. Winters! Is that from another one of your secret admirers?”

Sienna feigned modesty. “Yes. I’ve been constantly mobbed by people asking for my autograph lately. It's actually quite overwhelming.”
