I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 328

“Distance and delayed communication breed misunderstandings, which is detrimental to the timeline. Two months isn't a long window, and with the VAM Agreement Easton and Sterling signed, neither of us can afford to drop the ball.”

Hayden's fists tightened, his eyes darkening into an abyss.

The two alpha executives stared each other down, neither willing to yield a single inch. Ethan walked in right then, leading a squad of software engineers. He paused, surprised to see everyone just standing around.

“Has the meeting not started yet? We're half an hour past the scheduled time.”

Catching sight of Zoe, Ethan connected the dots and didn't bother filtering his sarcasm.

“Well, well. If it isn't Director Lynd gracing us with her presence. I'm just here to observe and learn, so please, enlighten me if anything goes over your head.”

The crackling electricity between Garrett and Hayden finally broke.

Sheathing their invisible swords, the two men led the way into the project war room.

The long conference table was split cleanly down the middle between the two factions.

Almost every engineer in the room, whether from Easton or Sterling, had been personally trained by Zoe at some point.

Sienna, currently acting as Easton's CEO and the head of the project, sat pressed tightly against Hayden. Their body language screamed a level of intimacy far beyond a standard board dynamic.

Everyone in the room understood the implications, but no one dared speak of it.

Zoe, naturally, sat beside Garrett. And just as naturally, the room categorized them as an established couple.

The internal opinions, however, were wildly divided.

Soft whispers rippled through the Easton staff.

[Didn't they say Secretary Lynd had a crush on Mr. Thorne?]
