I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 333

Zoe stared at Hayden, her gaze utterly devoid of warmth.

She studied him for three solid seconds before concluding that he had entirely lost his mind.

And was a complete psycho.

"I refuse. If the content isn't the issue and it's just the font, you can have literally anyone reformat and print these files. I have a digital backup; you can just adjust it and print it directly."

She brushed off his absurd demand, casually sweeping a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

"I'm busy these next few days with Sterling's Charity Regatta. If you genuinely think something is wrong, find someone else to fix it."

Dropping those final words, she turned on her heel and walked out.

Sitting in his chair, Hayden watched her retreating figure, feeling a wave of absolute helplessness wash over him for the first time.

Every single one of Zoe's actions and movements had thoroughly captured his interest.

It was obvious she had received expert coaching to play this little game with him.

He really wanted to drag whoever was behind her out into the light.

Hayden stared at the documents on his desk for a long time before Sienna pushed the door open and walked in.

"Zoe isn't here?"

She had intentionally come by to see exactly what Hayden had called Zoe in to discuss.

In truth, she simply couldn't stand the thought of the two of them being alone.

Hayden didn't respond, but Sienna didn't mind.

She knew he didn't care about Zoe at all, so why would he bother answering?

"Holden told me last night that his classmates are going to watch the Regatta for the festival, and he wants you to take him. I came to see if you had the time."

Hayden's dark eyes narrowed slightly. The Regatta.

Zoe had just mentioned that very same event.

"If Holden wants to go, I'll take him. I have time."

The day of the race, the riverbanks were packed with crowds despite the pouring rain.

Even though they were heading into summer, Zoe found the weather a bit chilly.

Lily had begged to go, so she had no choice but to bring her along.
