I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 358

Sienna was at the absolute pinnacle of the city's socialite hierarchy, and the crowd of sycophants clamoring for her attention was even larger.

She was completely surrounded, basking in the adoration.

"Hayden, I'm so sorry, I have to mingle for a bit,"

Feigning polite helplessness against the overwhelming crowd, she offered him an apologetic smile.

Hayden gave a slight, gentle nod.

"Go ahead."

That simple, intimate exchange was enough to send the surrounding wives and heiresses into a frenzy of jealousy.

"Mr. Thorne and Mrs. Thorne are so in love. We must be hearing wedding bells soon, right?" one woman gushed.

Sienna's cheeks flushed the perfect shade of innocent pink.

"Hayden is incredibly supportive of me, but please don't misunderstand. We have a very pure relationship..."

The crowd chuckled knowingly. Aside from burning with envy, no one pushed the subject further.

As Sienna glided through the room making small talk, her eyes scanned the crowd for the Kendall family.

She spotted Garrett deep in conversation with a group of powerful men she didn't recognize. Much like Hayden, he was the center of his own elite orbit.

Sienna's lips curved upward. She took a slow, triumphant sip of her red wine.

Zoe was nowhere to be seen.

"How strange... on a night this important, where is the Kendall family's precious adopted daughter?" a woman standing next to Sienna whispered to her friend.

Sienna shifted her gaze to the gossiping woman, pretending to casually eavesdrop while offering no opinion of her own.

"I know, right? They threw that massive banquet just to claim her, and now, at the perfect event for her to show her face, she's practically vanished. Does she think she's too good for us? Not showing up at all is incredibly arrogant."

Sienna shot the woman a brief, dismissive look, laughing coldly on the inside.

*These women really have zero vision. What a joke.*

She subtly scanned the entire ballroom again to confirm. Zoe was definitely not here.

She recognized Mr. and Mrs. Kendall near the front.

Mr. Kendall was caught up in heavy networking, while Sylvia Kendall was seated comfortably, sipping champagne and holding court with a circle of the city's most respected matriarchs. The atmosphere around her was warm and lively.

Sienna kept her eyes locked on Sylvia.

The moment she saw Sylvia step away from the group to get a fresh drink, Sienna glided forward, her movements graceful and perfectly calculated.

"Aunt Sylvia," she called out in a soft, sweet voice.

Sylvia looked up, a spark of recognition in her eyes.
