She really had no idea what Garrett saw in Zoe.

"If he won't do it, forget it," Sienna said, her disappointment palpable. Professor Layne was an industry authority; if he refused, there was nothing she could do.

Hayden comforted her right on time.

"He's not the only expert in this field. There are countless talents both domestically and abroad. With enough money, we can definitely find someone to solve this."

Hayden thought for a moment.

"We're preparing to fly overseas tomorrow. We'll let Mom and my cousin's family stay here and enjoy themselves."

Sienna was confused. Hayden's original purpose for coming here was to negotiate with Garrett to continue their partnership.

Now that the negotiations had failed and Professor Layne had completely shut the door on helping her, she couldn't figure out why Hayden wanted to go abroad at a time like this.

Did he want to take her somewhere else to relax?

That wasn't entirely impossible.

"Hayden, there's no need to go through the trouble of going abroad. I've gotten tired of traveling the globe these past few years," she said. Charles used to know she loved extreme sports and frequently took her all over the world.

She had outgrown the age for those thrilling games and now only wanted to focus on making money.

Hayden gave her a deep, meaningful look.

"You misunderstood. I'm not planning a vacation. There's a Ph.D. overseas who started his own tech company. It went public a couple of years ago and is now worth billions. If we explain our situation to him, I believe he can help us. As for Professor Layne, we can put him on the back burner for now and talk to him later when he's more open to it."

Sienna nodded.

If it weren't for his reputation, she really wouldn't want to associate with Professor Layne anyway.

The old man was eccentric. Anyone who would join the Kendalls in elevating Zoe couldn't possibly be a good person.

Sienna went to say goodbye to the Winters family, simply stating that she and Hayden had some business to attend to and telling them to enjoy their time.

Mrs. Winters couldn't have been happier, and neither could Julian. With a powerhouse like Hayden around, even though he spoiled Sienna, the Winters family always felt a sense of pressure.

Megan, however, stared longingly at Hayden's broad back, then glanced at her middle-aged, slightly out-of-shape husband, feeling a twinge of resentment.
