I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 377

Zachary stared at Sienna's face for a solid minute, looking so intensely that she actually started to feel self-conscious.

She assumed Zachary's infatuation with her still hadn't changed after all these years.

But thinking back to how she was back then, she indeed had the right to expect these elites to fall in love with her.

Even Hayden, after doing a background check on her, had brought her home demanding marriage without a second thought.

"Don't worry about the partnership. I'm a businessman. As long as there are no issues with the project, I wouldn't reject money and resources practically delivered to my door."

Just then, there was a knock at the hospital room door, and Sienna proactively went to open it.

It was Zachary's assistant, Phil. He hadn't expected Zachary to be chatting with the woman of his dreams, and his expression froze slightly as he tried to back out.

"Phil, Mrs. Thorne has to leave. Please see her out."

Sienna felt incredibly flattered. Having Zachary's assistant escort her was practically the treatment of a head of state.

She knew Hayden was definitely waiting outside. If Zachary's assistant saw him and reported back, and Zachary got jealous of Hayden, it could impact their future cooperation, which would be a terribly unwise move.

She politely declined. "That's alright. My car is outside, and my driver is waiting for me."

Zachary nodded, not pressing the issue. "Then we won't see you out."

As he watched Sienna's retreating figure, Zachary's face instantly darkened.

He had been hospitalized, and Sienna showed no genuine concernβ€”her eyes were entirely fixed on the partnership.

Hayden certainly didn't treat him as an honored guest either. He just felt like he had walked into Sienna's trap, served up on a chopping block waiting to be slaughtered.

Zachary looked at his assistant. "How did Easton perform at the expo?"

Phil reported in his fluent British accent.

"They had a large crowd at the beginning, but midway through, they were overtaken by Sterling Group. They launched a physical empathetic AI robot that I believe has much stronger investment potential.

It was practically a fatal blow to Easton's conceptual care bot. Mr. Harrison, this is a video from the venue, please take a look."

A social media app was broadcasting a live feed of Sterling's Empathy AI Pro.

The head of the R&D team, technical director, and current Vice President of Sterling, Zoe, was physically operating the robot and interacting with the attendees.

He instantly recognized Zoe as the very first person who rushed over to help when he had his seizure.

As for everyone else, their attention had been entirely on the passionately speaking Sienna at the time. No one had cared about him.

Unconsciously, Zachary clenched his fists. He was a globally renowned expert, yet he had nearly lost his life here.

"What about Easton's project?"

The assistant kept the screen in Zachary's view. Right next to the live feed was Easton's booth.

Unfortunately, there was no physical model, only a few video presentations, and no one was paying any attention to Easton's staff.

Everyone had flocked to Sterling's side.

"Contact the technical personnel we sent to Easton immediately. Have them report on the actual situation on the ground."

Zachary took a breath of oxygen, struggling to calm himself.

The assistant immediately called the elite technicians they had brought over from thousands of miles away.
