I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 389

Hayden didn't even bother checking the master bedroom.

Whatever was left in there was undoubtedly curated exactly how she wanted him to find it. He had zero interest in falling for her traps.

Striding to his private study, Hayden unlocked his desk drawer and pulled out their prenuptial agreement.

Staring at the five-year expiration clause glaring back at him, a deep sense of irony washed over him.

She knew her time was up. Unable to change his mind, she was resorting to deliberately pushing his patience to the absolute breaking point.

Well, he was going to grant her exactly what she wanted. He wasn't going to let her drag this out for the remaining few months.

For five years, hadn't she constantly pulled stunts like running away or threatening self-harm?

The last six months had been her most unhinged performance yetβ€”trying to spark his jealousy by flaunting herself around other men just to steal his attention.

He didn't find the tactic clever or fresh. In fact, it was pathetically hilarious.

Hayden picked up his phone and dialed Justice Jordan, ordering his lawyer to come to Blackwood Manor immediately.

He had a brand new divorce agreement drafted. Once Justice reviewed the terms and confirmed they were legally airtight, Hayden started dialing Zoe's number again.

Unsurprisingly, she ignored the call. He was forced to text her.

'Divorce. Come to Blackwood Manor. You have three hours. Don't make me wait.'

He assumed he'd be waiting forever, his thumb anxiously swiping over her contact name in his phone again and again.

He gave her thirty minutes. If she didn't respond by then, he fully intended to call Garrett and force him to relay the message.

He barely had time to light a cigarette before a ding echoed from his phone.

He aggressively flicked his cigarette. It traced a perfect arc through the air and landed dead center in the ashtray.

Glowing on the screen was Zoe's immediate reply.

'On my way.'

Hayden stared at those three words for a solid thirty seconds before the reality fully registered.

He had called her hundreds of times and sent dozens of messages today, and she had ignored every single one.
