The man stood face-to-face with Hayden.
His gaze was intensely sharp.
Hayden met his eyes evenly.
Both were exceptional men, exuding the same unyielding arrogance.
Two titans, one dominating the markets of Asia, the other reigning over North America.
Kings who were never supposed to cross paths.
When Nadia saw the newcomer, her face instantly drained of color.
"What kind of severe crime requires calling in the parents?"
The man's presence was overwhelming. Dressed entirely in black like a lord of the night, he radiated a dangerous, unapproachable energy.
Captain Briggs instantly broke out in a cold sweat.
Hayden was already more than he could handle. Now, the formidable Asher Kendall had shown up out of nowhere.
Asher rarely returned to the country. No one expected to run into him here.
Nadia went limp, looking like a snake that had its spine removed, desperate to play dead.
Captain Briggs was at a loss for how to handle this.
Hayden spoke icily, not giving an inch.
"Soliciting escorts. Corrupting my wife."
Asher swept a cool glance over Nadia.
The woman didn't dare breathe too loudly. Her voice was as faint as a whisper, entirely devoid of confidence.
"Asher, it's not like that."
Asher gave a faint, mocking smile.
"How old is Mrs. Thorne? Nadia is still an unmarried young woman. She's hardly capable of corrupting anyone."
The implication was clear: if anyone was doing the corrupting, it was Zoe.
Hayden's gaze instantly turned freezing cold. "Is Mr. Kendall suggesting my wife is the one at fault?"
Asher scoffed. "If we're talking about ruthless tactics, no one rivals Mr. Thorne. But Mrs. Thorne's earth-shattering escapades in New York five years ago are public knowledge.
"Yes, absolutely. Never again."
If they had known they were arresting Mrs. Thorne and the ward of the Kendall family's ruthless overlord, they would have rather died than take this patrol shift.
Asher led Nadia out of the precinct. Seeing her long bare legs and heavy makeup, his brow furrowed in severe disapproval.
He stripped off his trench coat and draped it directly over her shoulders.
Two top-tier luxury SUVs were parked at the entrance.
The two men, capable of sparking economic storms in the elite circles of New York with a mere word, climbed into their respective vehicles at the same time.
One taking the left, the other the right, the high-end SUVs vanished into the night.
Meanwhile, inside the precinct, the chief was on the phone. Captain Briggs and his entire squad stood pale and rigid, getting cursed out by their superiors.
Sitting in the passenger seat of Asher's car, Nadia couldn't help but ask.
"Asher, Hayden won't do anything to Zoe, will he?"
Asher kept his hands firmly on the steering wheel, his focused expression fixed on the road ahead.
