Sienna slammed her silver fork down on the table with a sharp clatter.
"Enough. Every person in this room is my guest. Dad, keep your head down and play your part. Grandmother, when people wish you a happy birthday, just smile. Say what you're supposed to say, and keep your mouth shut about everything else."
Terrence and Grandmother Genevieve went pale. Mrs. Winters' expression hardened, but riding on the coattails of her daughter's success, she cleared her throat and intervened. "Mom, we should listen to Sienna. Her company is pulling in sixty billion dollars a day. Not even Hayden has that kind of capital."
Julian smugly poured himself a cup of tea, leaning in to placate Terrence.
"You really have no idea, Uncle Terrence. Sienna is absolutely untouchable right now. Sixty billion. A day."
Terrence's hand visibly trembled. Grandmother Genevieve was struck entirely speechless.
Mrs. Winters beamed with triumph, shooting her husband a look of sheer disgust. When Terrence was nothing but a lowly driver, he had smooth-talked her into giving him all her money to start his business. The moment it took off, he started sleeping around.
She had been trapped, forced to swallow her pride. But not anymore. With Sienna holding the ultimate power, she never had to take his garbage again.
Hayden walked over, and with a single warning glare from Sienna, the entire table fell dead silent.
"Happy Birthday, Grandmother Genevieve. Wishing you boundless fortune and longevity."
Hayden gestured for his assistant to present a priceless antique jade Guanyin statue. Genevieve, a devout Buddhist, was instantly mesmerized. She grinned so wide her eyes crinkled shut.
"Oh, Hayden, you shouldn't have... Sienna..."
Terrence puffed up his chest, preparing to play the authoritative father-in-law and instruct Sienna to serve Hayden a drink. But halfway through his sentence, he caught Sienna's lethal glare and instantly withered.
"Hayden, your mother and I would like to propose a toast to you."
Terrence checked Sienna's reaction like a beaten dog, his demeanor entirely stripped of its former bravado.
Hayden idly tapped the rim of his glass while Sienna plastered on a radiant smile.
"Mom, Dad, Hayden and I toast to you..."
Terrence completely abandoned his patriarchal pride, offering a fawning smile.
