Quentin Muir gripped his steak knife in his left hand and his fork in his right, a murderous urge rising in his chest.

If Ethan Montgomery dared to say one more word, Quentin was half-tempted to hurl the silverware across the table and end him right there.

Ian Varley couldn't listen to it anymore.

"Ethan, shut your mouth. If you ask me, Mr. Kendall and Zoe's relationship isn't anywhere near as dirty as you're making it out to be. They already have a child together, and they proudly gave him the Kendall name. What's wrong with acknowledging their relationship?"

While Ethan and Ian Varley were arguing, Garrett Kendall and Zoe Lynd approached their table, cradling little Ian in their arms.

He wanted to see if she was waiting for him to get jealous over her little games, hoping to prove he still cared.

"Hayden, Zoe and Garrett are here to toast you. You really need to drink this one, consider it a farewell to the past. It's for the best that you shook off a woman like her."

Ethan ground his teeth. Seeing the intimate dynamic between Zoe and Garrett, he would be damned if that child wasn't theirs.

"Mr. Thorne, forgive us if we haven't been the perfect hosts for our son's Presentation Gala. Please, have a drink."

Garrett kept his words brief and powerful. Zoe, standing dutifully by his side, barely wet her lips with her wine glass.

She couldn't even be bothered to exchange pleasantries with Hayden. Refusing to spare him a single glance, she focused her attention entirely on Quentin and Ian Varley.

"Thank you for coming."

Ethan couldn't be bothered to stand, and Hayden remained frozen in his chair.
