Sienna felt as though the sky had collapsed. A shrill scream tore from her throat.

"That's impossible! How could she?"

Was Zoe out of her mind? A project worth hundreds of millions, and she was just going to burn it to the ground?

If Zoe truly walked away, the current line of Easton Group bots would receive no future system updates and no software patches. Worse, once the core data failed, there would be no engineers capable of fixing them.

Easton was still actively taking orders. The bots already sold were crashing, and once the units still on the assembly line began glitching, the massive influx of capital from pending orders would instantly dry up.

"She can't just quit. She cannot quit! Is there any way you can set up a meeting with Zoe? I need to speak with her face-to-face."

She was completely out of options.

The line went silent for a few seconds before the man replied with genuine surprise.

"Are you sure you want to meet with her, Ms. Winters? The destruction order for this project was finalized five days ago. Even if you find her, it's already too late."

Sienna's vision went pitch black, the world spinning violently around her.

Hearing nothing but dead air, the man assumed she had hung up and ended the call.

Sienna sat paralyzed in her car for a long time before she finally thought to call Hayden Thorne.

To her shock, the call was routed directly to Colin Zachs.

She hadn't expected his assistant to answer.

"Where's Mr. Thorne? Why are you answering his phone?"

For nearly half a month, she had barely been able to reach Hayden, and when she did, he cut their conversations short.
