I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 651

Hayden Thorne was already a massive headache for Timothy Yates, and now Harvey Sterling had shown up. If Marcus Sommer had called him before Harvey's arrival, Timothy might have leaked the fact that Zoe Lynd was already married and had two children—omitting the divorce part, of course.

He would have done everything possible to keep them from interacting, or at least salvaged the situation.

But after their last encounter, Timothy had already seen the truth.

Harvey was completely infatuated with Zoe.

Zoe possessed the kind of striking beauty that would captivate ninety-nine percent of men at first glance. She was gorgeous, but not in a superficial, Hollywood way.

She was elegant and poised, radiant without being vulgar.

What man wouldn't lose his mind over a woman like her? Let alone the fact that she had been married and had two children—even if she was currently married, there was an endless line of men hoping she would divorce or eager to steal her away.

Zoe picked up Lily and returned smoothly to the Kendall family home.

Hayden arrived only a few minutes behind her. Zoe was slightly surprised, having assumed he would have gotten into a turf war by now. Seeing him walk in, she merely threw him a glance and didn't ask any questions.

"That was Harvey Sterling's car following us," Hayden said.

Zoe was genuinely surprised to hear this from Hayden. Harvey? Why would he be following them?

"Did he need something from you?"

Hayden shot her a strange look, staring at her for a full three seconds before looking away with a light scoff.

"Following me? He's not that bored. My wife is just too charming. How long has it been? Ex-boyfriends, ex-husbands, former colleagues, current colleagues, the commissioner's son—they're all lining up to court you. At this rate, little Ian is going to have countless fathers on top of his Kendall dad..."

Zoe rolled her eyes at him, muttering, "Psycho." She ignored him and went upstairs to check on Ian.

When it was time for dinner, the Kendalls set the table. Mr. Kendall Sr. and Sylvia Kendall didn't have Hayden's thick skin. He was a guest, so they eventually exchanged a few polite words with him.

The corner of Hayden's lips curved upward. He didn't speak, but his expression revealed a hint of satisfaction.

In his eyes, Zoe's desperate explanation was a clarification. It meant she wasn't interested in Harvey, which vastly improved his mood.

Sylvia had been around the block enough to know that Hayden's expression meant he was slowly falling in love with Zoe.

When a man felt jealousy, it proved his possessiveness over a woman. And that kind of possessiveness wouldn't be so obvious unless it stemmed from genuine, deep-seated love.

Sylvia caught all his subtle tells and chuckled. "You don't need to rush to explain to me. Actually, if you do find someone you like, I can vet him for you. Just make sure you don't get tricked." Zoe was moved. Sylvia and her family truly treated her as one of their own.

They had raised little Ian to be healthy and chubby.

"Her taste in men is terrible. After you vet him, Sylvia, I'll need to take a look, too," Hayden remarked.

His words drew a sharp scoff from Zoe. "You're right, it is terrible. But I have the freedom to choose now. I still don't know how I was so blind back then."
