I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 675

If Charles had actually died, Hayden might have married her long ago.

"When did he contact you?"

She wanted to know if Hayden had known all along... Charles didn't disappoint her.

"It's been a few years. I knew he was taking good care of you over there, so I never pressured you to come back. You know my condition..."

Sienna threw herself into his arms and pressed a finger to his lips. "I won't let you say that. No matter what happens to you, you are my husband."

Sienna swallowed all her grievances.

Charles gave a faint smile, a hint of sharpness in his eyes. "All these years you were with him, did you two...?"

"No."

Sienna wasn't lying.

She harbored intense resentment about it.

"Don't worry, he's a true gentleman. Why would he touch me? If he really had, he wouldn't have had Lily with Zoe. They also have a son. He told you about that, right?"

Sienna was just testing the waters, and Charles nodded.

"Yes, he sent pictures. Very cute kids. Lily, Ian... they both look like Thornes."

He frowned and glanced at Holden, who was playing games on his phone nearby.

"You should discipline Holden more. Has his school enrollment been sorted out yet?"

Pampered to the extreme by the domestic elite's standards, Holden couldn't adapt to life here at all.

His English was a disaster, leaving him unable to communicate.

His behavior in public was incredibly rude.

This wasn't like back home, where people constantly catered to him because of his wealth and power, terrified to raise their voices or scold him.

No one had special privileges here.

Even if he got into a prestigious school, there were plenty of richer kids.

Charles had barely involved himself in the business in the UK over the years.

He had been recuperating.

Sienna had absolutely no energy to deal with Holden.

Furthermore, school enrollment required an interview and a massive amount of money.

She had fled the country, and the amount of money she had on hand was pitifully small.

She had been putting up a strong front in front of Charles.

The few hundred thousand dollars she originally had should have lasted her years, but she was used to luxury.

In London, she still mingled with some of her old socialite friends from back home.

When they got together, there was bound to be shopping, chatting, and partying.

Just a few nights out, and her funds had hit rock bottom.
