I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 680

Garrett coldly shook off Clara's hand. Because she was Zoe's mother, his movement was restrained but intensely aloof.

He stepped sideways to shield Zoe, his icy gaze falling on Clara. His voice was low and carried an unquestionable authority: "Mrs. Winters, this is a place of business. It is not the place for your tantrums."

Seeing Garrett fiercely protecting Zoe, Clara's face drained of color. Her lips trembled, and she was so angry she couldn't speak.

Zoe looked at Garrett standing in front of her, a flicker of emotion passing through her eyes, followed by a brief wave of warmth.

Soon, however, detachment veiled her eyes again. She gently reached out, tugged at Garrett's sleeve, and said softly, "Garrett, I'm fine."

Garrett turned to look at her, the sharpness in his expression instantly melting away. "I'll take you upstairs."

Then, he looked back at the pale-faced Clara, his tone hard again. "Mrs. Winters, if you have an issue, I suggest you get your facts straight before you come here. For the sake of you being Zoe's mother, I won't hold this against you today."

Clara's face flushed bright red. She still believed Zoe had misled Garrett, and if she didn't seize this chance now, it would be even harder later.

"Mr. Kendall, you simply don't know..."

Garrett had absolutely no desire to listen to her anymore.

Clara tried to continue, but from behind her, a chilling voice cut through, sending a shiver down her spine.

"What is it that Mr. Kendall needs to know? As her husband, shouldn't I be in the loop?"

Hayden walked in, carrying little Ian.

The moment Zoe saw him, her mood plummeted.

Clara was utterly dumbfounded.

Hayden? Why was he here too?

And the baby he was holding...

Was that the son Zoe gave birth to?

Or was it Zoe and Garrett's?

Clara felt like she was losing her mind. Seeing two powerful men fiercely defending Zoe, she was ready to go crazy.

Her Sienna.

Hadn't Hayden always loved Sienna?

"Son-in-law."

Clara only managed that one word before casting a venomous glare at Zoe, wishing she could devour her alive.

Hayden gave Clara a flat glance.

There was barely any emotion on his face.

She observed him carefully, but could no longer find a trace of the gentle indulgence he used to show toward Sienna.

His gaze was unnervingly cold, as if he didn't even know who she was.
