I Refuse To Be Your Luna (Flourish and Harold) novel Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Family Reputation

Lady Flourish’s POV

I took a deep breath and turned to face him.

“Damian, thank you but I really think I can manage,” I bit out, annoyed at how small my voice had gotten.

Damian tilted his head, staring at me intently. “And how exactly do you plan to do that?”

I pushed off the car and turned to face him, my eyes glowing bright yellow as I let my wolf come to the surface. “I can run.”

For a split second, Damian allowed his wolf rush to the surface, as if in response to mine. The energy was so powerful that I took a step back, gasping softly.

Then he suppressed it, looking at me with a lazy smile on his lips. “You really are one heck of a she–wolf.”

I snorted, half smiling from his remark. Then I turned to my driver. “I’ll be expecting the car at the villa in the morning. No excuses.”

He nodded frantically. “Yes, Lady Flourish.”

I turned to Damian, who had his eyes glued to me like I was about to disappear any moment from now. I ignored how my pulse kicked when I met his eyes, and turned to shift. “Goodnight, Alpha Damian.”

With that, I allowed my wolf to come to the surface. I had light brown fur, was quite large for my age, and my claws fully extended to the surface.

When I looked at Damian for the last time, his expression had turned very serious. I could feel his wolf a lot easier in my current form, howling at me and warning me not to go. But Damian himself remained silent, like he wanted to allow me do what I wanted.

I let out a loud howl, and took off onto the road.

The wind was cold, but my wolf preferred it in this state. I allowed my instinct take over, feeling the breeze in my fur until I got to my cliff side residence.

I waited until I was inside before I shifted back, discarding my ripped dress as I walked naked into the kitchen.

I reached for a glass of water, and caught my reflection in the window.

A scoff escaped my lips as thoughts of the past began to brew in my head. Lady Flourish, the only she–wolf tech mogul in all of Stonehedge.

I was the one who advanced technology in our territory, years ago, who built the largest tech complex across six territories, and currently controlled half of the shares in the world.

My company hadn’t been a major part of my life since I got betrothed to Harold, but I didn’t let it turn to dust either.

Maybe Harold had forgotten just who I was.

I walked upstairs and ran a bath, finally allowing myself to relax. The warm water soaked into my skin, and before long, I felt sleepy.

My phone chimed loudly, breaking the silence.

I glanced at it, seeing a notification from Harold.

“Where are you?”

I laughed softly and typed back. “How is that your concern?”

Three dots appeared immediately, then; “Have you lost your mind Flourish? First you severed our mind link, now you’re going off to secret places I don’t know about?”

My amusement quickly turned to irritation, and I turned off the phone and settled further into the water.

He had ruined my night enough. He wouldn’t ruin my sleep too.

The next morning, I stood outside my residence as my driver pulled my car into the parking lot.

He walked over and handed me the key, bowing slightly. “Your car, Lady Flourish.”

I took it from him. “Thank you. Go and wash up, we have a few visits to make today.”

He hesitated slightly, but the pointed look I gave him was enough to make him scramble to his quarters.

An hour later, I was on the road to my company’s main building when I received a mind link from my father.
