Chapter 180 The Bloodline Secret
Lady Flourish’s POV
Finished
I read Damian’s message three times before I accepted what it said, and my wolf refused to settle no matter how many times I told myself there could be an innocent explanation.
My father’s clearance had been used to authorize the vehicle, which meant either he was involved or someone had access to credentials that should have been protected.
I called Damian immediately.
He answered on the second ring. “Flourish.”
“Tell me everything.”
“We’re still checking the records.”
“I don’t care if they’re finished or not.”
His breathing changed slightly, and I could hear other wolves moving around him. “The vehicle was dispatched from a Stonehedge garage two nights ago, but there is no ordinary transport request attached to it.”
“Then how was it released?”
“An executive authorization.”
“My father’s.”
“Yes.”
I closed my eyes. “Could someone have copied his credentials?”
“Possible.”
“Could they have copied his scent?”
“Not easily.”
That answer made my wolf growl.
Werewolf security did not rely on passwords alone, especially for vehicles connected to the Alpha’s household. Every executive clearance was tied to a scent signature, and although technology could replicate access cards, scent verification was considerably harder to bypass.

“Then somebody with his access released that vehicle,” I said.
“That’s what I’m trying to establish.”
“Do you believe my father did it?”
Finished
“No.”
The answer came quickly.
I opened my eyes.
“Why?”
“Because if Garret were involved, he would have used a cleaner method.”
Despite everything I had just learned about my father, I almost smiled. “You sound very certain.”
“I’ve spent enough time around powerful wolves to recognize when someone is trying to hide something.”
“That sounds personal.”
“It is.”
I heard a door open on his end.
“Where are you?”
“Fenwick.”
“Alone?”
“Bram is here.”
“Good.”
“Why?”
“Because I’m coming.”
He was silent. “Flourish, don’t.”
“I wasn’t asking.”
“You have no idea what you’re walking into.”

“I know exactly what I’m walking into.”
My wolf had already decided and I needed answers.
I ended the call and left my room, but I stopped when I reached the stairs. My father’s scent was coming from the study, and there was another scent mixed with it.
Lydia, my stepmother, had arrived. I descended quietly and heard their voices before I reached
the door.
“You should have destroyed it years ago,” Lydia said.
My body went completely still.
My wolf surged forward so hard that my claws extended before I could stop them. I stayed beside the wall and listened.
“I didn’t know she would find it,” my father replied.
“She wasn’t supposed to be in your study.”
“She needed her registration documents.”
“And you left the diary there?”
“I thought it was buried beneath enough paperwork.”
My heart slammed hard against my ribs.
Lydia spoke again, her voice lower. “If Flourish reads the missing pages, everything changes.”
I covered my mouth with one hand.
My father exhaled heavily. “The pages are gone.”
“Are you certain?”
“I removed them myself.”
My wolf growled so loudly inside my chest that I had to press my palm against my stomach.
Lydia continued. “Then why are you worried?”
“Because I don’t know whether she found the diary before or after I came upstairs.”
The room went silent.

I stepped away from the door before they could sense me, then moved toward the kitchen. Mira was there, arranging dishes, and she looked up the moment she saw me.
“Lady Flourish?”
I raised one finger to my lips.
She immediately understood.
“Is everything all right?” she whispered.
“No.”
Her expression changed. “I need to ask you something.”
“Anything.”
“Did you know my mother kept a diary?”
Mira’s hands stopped moving. That reaction answered more than her words could have.
“You knew.” Her eyes lowered.
“How long?”
“Since before you were born.”
My wolf became completely still.
“Then tell me what happened to my mother.”
Mira looked toward the hallway before speaking.
“Your mother was not supposed to marry your father.”
I felt my stomach tighten. “Why?”
“Because her family had already arranged another future for her.”
“What future?”
Mira swallowed.
“She was supposed to return to the Voss bloodline after her first child was born.”
I stared at her.

“Why?”
“Because your mother was the last female heir.”
My wolf lifted her head. That explained the symbol. It explained why my mother’s diary had been hidden.
It explained why someone had removed pages.
But it did not explain why my father had been using an old family clearance connected to Stonehedge.
“What happened after she married him?”
Mira’s eyes filled with sadness. “She stopped speaking to her family.”
“Because of my father?”
“Because he made her choose.”
I felt cold despite the warmth in the room.
“Choose what?”
Mira looked at me for several seconds.
“Her husband or her bloodline.”
My wolf snarled.
