I Refuse To Be Your Luna

Chapter 186 Harold’s Secret

Alpha Damian’s POV

I did not like the look on Flourish’s face after Rhys ended the call.

My wolf reacted to the fear beneath her controlled expression before she could hide it.

She folded the diary pages carefully and placed them back inside the envelope, but her fingers were shaking.

“You’re not going alone.”

She looked at me. “I wasn’t planning to.”

I stepped closer and touched her cheek. “Whatever Harold knows, don’t let him provoke you.”

Her eyes softened. “I won’t.”

“Promise me.”

She hesitated. “Damian, I need the truth.”

“I know.” I lowered my voice. “And I need you alive.”

Her lips parted slightly, and then she leaned into my palm. “I’m not going anywhere.”

My wolf settled at the reassurance, but only slightly.

We returned to the boardroom with Lydia following behind us, and Rhys met us outside with a tense expression, visibly relieved when he saw me beside Flourish.

“They’re inside.”

“Who else?”

“Two lawyers, Harold, Phina, and three Stonehedge representatives.”

My wolf reacted immediately to the mention of Phina. I had never trusted her completely, but until now I had treated her as a ruthless woman with her own agenda rather than someone directly connected to Elara’s death. That had changed.

“Did Harold say anything?”

Rhys shook his head. “Only that he had evidence.”

I opened the door. Harold stood beside the conference table, Phina next to him. The moment her eyes landed on Flourish, her expression changed – only slightly, but my wolf caught it. Recognition. Fear. She recovered quickly.

“Flourish.”

Flourish stopped beside me. “Why are you here?”

Harold’s gaze moved toward me. “We need to talk.”

“Then talk.”

His jaw tightened. “This isn’t something we should discuss in front of everyone.”

“You came to my company,” Flourish said, her voice remaining controlled. “You don’t get to decide who stays.”

Harold looked irritated. Phina touched his arm. “Harold.”

He glanced at her. “Let me handle this.”

I watched her carefully. Her pulse was faster than normal. She was afraid. But of what?

Harold reached into his jacket and removed a file. “Your mother was investigated before her death.”

Flourish’s expression changed. “By whom?”

“Stonehedge.”

I stepped forward. “Careful.”

Harold met my eyes. “This isn’t about you.”

“It became about me when you brought Stonehedge records into her company.”

His face hardened. “You think I don’t know what happened to her?”

“Then explain.”

Harold opened the file. “Six weeks before Elara died, she filed a complaint.”

Flourish stared at him. “Against whom?”

Harold looked toward Phina. She immediately shook her head. “Don’t.”

He ignored her. “Against someone inside her own family.”

Flourish’s breathing changed. “Who?”

Harold placed the document on the table. “Phina.”

The room erupted into silence. Phina stepped backward. “You promised.”

His face tightened. “I promised to tell her the truth.”

Her eyes flashed. “You don’t understand what you’re doing.”

My wolf surged. The scent of fear around her grew stronger.

Flourish picked up the document, her eyes moving rapidly across the page. “This says my mother accused Phina of stealing Voss records.”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

Harold swallowed. “Because Phina had access to them.”

Flourish looked up. “Through Lydia?”

Phina remained silent.

I stepped toward her. “Answer her.”

Her eyes turned gold. For the first time, her wolf surfaced openly, and the room reacted immediately, several werewolves stepping back.

Phina’s lips curled. “I never killed Elara.”

Flourish’s voice shook. “Then why did she write your name?”

“Because she discovered what I was trying to do.”

“What were you trying to do?”

Phina’s gaze shifted toward the envelope in Flourish’s hand. “Find the Voss archive.”

My wolf growled. “Why?”

“Because it belonged to my family too.”

Flourish’s eyes narrowed. “You’re lying.”

“No.” Phina stepped closer. “My mother was a Voss.”

Flourish froze. I looked at Lydia. She had gone pale.

“That’s impossible,” Lydia whispered.

Phina laughed softly. “That’s what your father wanted everyone to believe.”

Flourish’s hands tightened. “What is your real name?”

Phina looked at her. “Phina Voss.”

The room fell silent. Flourish’s wolf erupted beneath her skin, her eyes flashing gold. “Then why did you marry Rowan?”

Phina’s expression hardened. “Because I needed access to Stonehedge.”

I felt my own wolf surge. Everything was connecting – the executive fleet, the archive, Elara, Nerissa, the poisoned flower, Karl. But one piece still did not fit.

I turned toward Harold. “You knew.”

He nodded. “I found the records recently.”

“Why didn’t you tell anyone?”

“Because I didn’t know who I could trust.”

Flourish stared at him. “You were going to marry her.”

Harold looked toward Phina. “I know.”

“Then why expose her now?”

His expression became grim. “Because she tried to kill me.”

Phina’s face changed. “I didn’t.”
